For weeks, fans have been wondering about the fate of Counting On. With no premiere date for the next season in sight, does that mean it's officially done for? Now the Duggar family has released a statement about Counting On, and unfortunately, it didn't give fans the answers they were looking for.

  • Speculation that the show has been canceled has been brewing lately, especially after TLC announced that Derick Dillard would no longer be on the show.

After making some controversial statements about Jazz Jennings, the transgender star of another TLC show, I Am Jazz, the network made it clear that Derick would no longer be part of Counting On. But are the waves Derick has made enough to ax the show altogether? Are the ratings that bad?

  • But then, on Sunday, the family shared an update on their blog.

    The statement said:

"Counting On has been off the air for six weeks now, and we know you all are eager to hear whether the Duggars will be returning for a new season. We have been in contact with TLC, but at this time, there are no announcements to share. As soon as there is news to give, we will post it here."

  • Sometimes, no news is good news, but it definitely sounds like the future of "Counting On" is a big old question mark.

  • We hope TLC decides to renew the series (and soon!), because there's so much we don't want to miss out on.

Like Joy-Anna's new baby, Jinger's life with Jeremy, and all marriages and babies and adventures to come for this family. We want to see it all!
