Meghan Markle Ditched One of Her Beloved Dogs to Marry Prince Harry

When two people make the decision to spend the rest of their lives together, it's kind of expected that one or both of them will have to make some sacrifices, in terms of giving up a home, moving to another city, or possibly even making a career shift. But when I found out that Meghan Markle left her rescue dog, Bogart, behind to jet off to England to marry Prince Harry? Yeah. I was heartbroken, and actually a little appalled.

  • According to Prince Harry's press secretary, Bogart is now living with friends of Meghan's.

Supposedly it's believed that he was "too old" to make the flight in the cargo hold over to London, so he was left behind, while Meg's other pooch, Guy, went across the pond to the UK, and presumably will wind up living with her and Harry at their cottage. Wait. Too old? He was too old? Then don't make him ride in cargo! Couldn't Prince Harry charter a private jet with a vet on board, or something? Um, he probably has a few connections. (Just sayin'.)

Before going any further, let me just say that I'm 100 percent sure that the friends Meghan left Bogart with are wonderful people, and I'm sure this decision was not something she took lightly. Odds are good that this beautiful dog is in a very loving home -- but that still doesn't change the fact that she DITCHED HER DOG FOR A DUDE.

  • Yeah, yeah ... so I know he's not a "regular" dude.

And I'm well aware that it's not every day that one receives a proposal from a prince. But as a dog mama myself, I just can't get on board with the idea of kissing your sweet fur baby goodbye and leaving the country like it's no big deal and becoming royalty and living happily ever after -- all while knowing you ditched your pet to make it happen.

Oh, and don't even get me started on the fact that Meg's other pup, Guy, has to be wondering where in the hell his buddy Bogart is. (Sniff, sniff!)

  • And as it turns out, I'm not the only one crying over this dog. This woman gets it.

    Um, hello?!? Private jet!!

  • Here is another question we'd all love an answer to.

  • More tears ...

  • I mean ... just look at this photo.

I guess the best way to caption it is, "When your mom suddenly up and leaves you and takes your dog brother with her to live in another country, because she wants to marry some guy she obviously loves more than you. Yet you sit and wait, hoping someday she'll come home."

Okay, I'll shut up now. I need to go grab more tissues anyway.
