It's no secret that Kate Middleton likes to look nice. And with all of the appearances she makes -- and with all the photos that are taken of her -- it's hard to fault her for that. Not only has she officially been labeled a fashion icon (no pressure there!), she's one of the most scrutinized women in the world. Of course she's going to have a tendency towards getting gussied up. But some people aren't fans of Kate's passion for fashion. In fact, the Duchess was recently called out for her splashy spending habits

  • British politician Emma Dent Coad recently called Kate's shopping habit "disgusting."

Coad, who's a Member of Parliament for Kensington in London, was aghast at Kate's tendency to spend upward of $200 on a single dress. "That’s a food bill for a family of four," she said. "That’s absolutely outrageous."

  • At another point, Coad compared the Middletons to the Kardashians.

  • Coad also can't stand the obsessive coverage of the royals, but, as we all know, she may be alone there.

She told SkyNews that the BBC's coverage of the royal family was "sickeningly gratuitous" and that it is "very heavily directed by right-wing politics and the monarchy."

"It is a piece of the whole propaganda machine," she added.

  • She also made fun of Prince Harry's piloting skills recently.

She told The Sun, "Harry can't actually fly a helicopter. He tried to pass the helicopter exam about four times and he couldn't get through it at all so he always goes for the co-pilot. So he just sits there going 'vroom vroom'." Ouch!

  • It's doubtful the royal family will take the time to respond to Coad's rude comments.

And it's doubtful Kate will stop spending money on clothes. Soz.
