One can only imagine how tough life has been for the once-beloved couple known as "Brangelina" and their family. Since announcing their split last September, Brad and Angie have had some ups and downs as they've navigated their new "normal." Recently, Angelina Jolie admitted she doesn't enjoy being single and that she's not as "strong inside" as she's been in the past.

The 42-year-old mom of six (Jolie and Pitt are parents to Maddox, 16; Pax, 13; Zahara, 12; Shiloh, 11; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 9) recently opened up to the Sunday Telegraph, where she admitted that life as a single woman isn't exactly great.

"It's been difficult. I don't enjoy being single," Jolie said during her interview. She continued:

"It's not something I wanted. There's nothing nice about it. It's just hard. Sometimes maybe it appears I am pulling it all together, but really I am just trying to get through my days .... Emotionally, it's been a very difficult year, and I have had some other health issues. So my health is something I have to monitor."

Angelina and Brad reportedly became an item while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith back in 2005 and officially tied the knot in 2014 -- before splitting last year after an airplane altercation between Brad and son Maddox. Since then, Pitt's revelations about his drinking problem and Angelina's Bell's palsy diagnosis have made headlines, making people cross their fingers that this family can somehow find light at the end of the tunnel.

"I think now I need to rediscover a little bit of the old me," Jolie admitted to the Sunday Telegraph. "I think we lose our way a bit. I have had a lot happen in my life, from certain people passing to health issues to raising the children. And it's been a very good time to absorb and develop and grow."

One can only hope life will become a little easier to bear for all parties involved -- and that Angelina will find the strength to feel empowered as both a single woman and mother.

We're rooting for you guys.
