If you find yourself stuck in the '00s, unwilling to free yourself from the land of body glitter and boy bands, this one is for you. It appears a mysterious Justin Timberlake–Britney Spears musical collaboration is in the works, which could leave you saying "Cry Me a River" or "Gimme More" -- depending on how you feel about it.

  • "Pop University" podcast hosts Maddie Lazer and Hannah Rowston reportedly got the duet confirmation thanks to music producer Timbaland.

This duo was seemingly able to confirm a dream come true for many while attending a taping of Boy Band where Timbo (a judge on the show) said Justin and Brit do have plans to record something.

  • Referring to a Timberlake-Spears collaboration, Timbaland apparently said, "Yes, it's coming. It's coming."

Maddie and Hannah also mention in their "Britmergency: JUSTNEY, PART TWO" episode on their Pop University podcast that the two made sure the producer extraordinare was talking about "Justney" -- aka, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears -- and not JT's upcoming fifth studio album slated for 2018.

  • While Brit and Justin teaming up 15 years after they broke up might sound random AF, folks have been peeping the writing on the wall for some time.

Justney's 2002 breakup was heard around the world, inspiring JT's ultimate burn track "Cry Me a River" that many believe was a Taylor Swift–esque clapback (obviously before Tay was writing hit songs about her exes) amid rumors Britney cheated with her choreographer Wade Robson. Given the heat Justin caught for milking his breakup, seeing these pop icons making sweet music together (again) proves all the past drama is just water under the bridge.

Plus, both Justin and Britney have sung each other's praises post-split, admitting they're not opposed to working together.

  • The Interwebs caught Timbaland liking old #Justney posts on the 'Gram back in April, which made people suspect something was up.

Justin, Timbaland, and Pharrell were reportedly in the music studio together during that time. Maddie and Hannah also point out in their podcast that Justin once retweeted an old Twitter message about Britney before deleting it.

    ... Yeah, very suspect.

  • Folks caught also Justin's mom, Lynn Harless, following Britney and her family on Instagram and liking old (fan) throwback photos.

When will people realize you always get caught creeping?

  • Though there's no word on when this collaboration will occur, the "Pop University" podcast hosts predict a Britney-blessed track on JT's 2018 album.

"I think the actual worst-case scenario is that Timbaland is just f*cking with us," Lazer mentions during her podcast. "If that's the case, I'm gonna sue him for emotional distress. That's unacceptable to me. I really think this is happening at this point."

    Guess time will tell!

UPDATE: Entertainment Tonight has confirmed there a Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears collaboration is NOT in the works. A "source" close to Timberlake's camp says such a project is completely "false."
