Queen Elizabeth Reportedly Wants to Crown Prince William as the Next King

According to a new report, Queen Elizabeth has decided to pass the crown directly from her head to Prince William's, thus denying Prince Charles's birthright to the throne.

According to the website Closerweekly.com, a source revealed to Life & Style magazine that the queen wants to skip over her firstborn son Charles becoming king, and hand the title directly to her grandson William.

Before anyone gets too excited, it's worth noting that there's nothing about the royal tradition being thrown out the window on Life & Style's website or social media account, so let's take this news with a grain of salt.

If it's true, it's a pretty huge deal, as royal experts have mostly held the opinion that Elizabeth won't skip the monarchy's line of succession. Even so, Closer Weekly reports that the longest reigning British royal in history sees Prince William and Kate Middleton as future of the monarchy, and is eager to get that started.

"With all the drama that has surrounded the royal family over recent decades, Elizabeth realizes the monarchy no longer has the respect and power it once had," a source revealed. "In her eyes, William and Kate are the two people who can turn that around."

Poor Charles. He's been the heir to the British throne for longer than longer than anyone is history, and now he might be skipped over altogether.

Somehow, we can't see Queen E bucking the succession of the crown, but hey, stranger things have happened. We guess we'll just have to wait and see.
