Earlier this week, Jill (Duggar) Dillard's husband Derick decided it would be a good idea to trash a fellow TLC reality star. The dad of two commented on the show I Am Jazz, which follows the life of a transgender teen girl, to say that transgenderism is a myth.

Derick also deliberately mis-gendered Jazz by using a masculine pronoun, which is somewhere on the scale of rude-to-hateful. Fans were quick to point out how hypocritical Derick was being, since he's welcome to take his family off Counting On if he disagrees so much with TLC running I Am Jazz as well.

Commenting on an ad for the show, Derick wrote, "What an oxymoron... a 'reality' show which follows a non-reality. 'Transgender' is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it's ordained by God." He later added, "I want to be clear. I have nothing against him. I only have issue with the words and definitions being propagated here."

Head. Desk.

Thankfully, Jazz is one classy teenager, because she responded in a way most adults wouldn't know how to do.

The 16-year-old wrote,"Every day I experience cyber-bullying, but I keep sharing my story. Today was no different." Way to go Jazz, not being bullied into silence.

TLC also made a statement about Derick's asinine comments, saying, "Derick Dillard's personal statement does not represent the views of TLC." We'd like to make a statement to Derick -- we don't care what you believe, but attacking a teenager on social media is never a good idea.

Derick would be well-advised to keep his opinions to himself.
