Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell have their wedding date set for October 7, 2017, but is it all a ruse to keep us on our toes? Fans are speculating that their real wedding date is actually much sooner, and they only announced the date this fall to throw us off the scent.

Fans started talking about an expedited wedding date after Joe and Kendra posted about their bachelor/bachelorette party over the weekend. They noted that Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth had been rumored to have a fall wedding date, but they ended up hitched in May.

Further circumstantial evidence? Joy-Anna and Austin got married about two weeks after their bachelor/bachelorette party. "So then it would seem that the wedding is just around the corner," one fan wrote of Joe and Kendra.

Plus that would put their engagement at four months, and the Duggar engagements thus far have all typically been around three months or less. Jill (Duggar) Dillard once explained to Page Six, "You may not wanna push the wedding date out too far, as those natural God-given desires with too much time between engagement and marriage can make it harder to remain pure."

Another fan commented that they may just be trying to keep the whole thing more low-key than it might be if everyone knew the real date. "They keep [the wedding] a secret to keep the public out of it. I wouldn't be surprised if you see they get married in a week or two."

It would also explain why the family shared their wedding registry with the date of October 7. They were criticized for possibly soliciting gifts from the public, but could it be that they were just putting a decoy date out there?

Only time will tell.
