15 Celebs Who Posted Selfies With a Powerful Body-Positive Message

Chrissy Teigen

Most people, especially women, struggle enough as it is when it comes to loving and appreciating our bodies. So imagine how difficult it would be if millions of strangers always had something to say about the way you look.

As much as we may envy the lifestyle of our favorite celebrities, one thing we probably wouldn't want is the constant scrutiny they face about their appearance. However, some of them are able to fire back at the haters and societal pressures by showing us how much they love their bodies, despite what people may think or say.

When someone we look up to posts a beautiful photo of herself owning her body, it can have a trickle-down effect and help the rest of us appreciate our features as well.

Here are 15 celebrities who delivered fearless messages of body positivity.

Metz wrote alongside this pic on Instagram: "Remember that time folks got rowdy because I wore a dress? The outpouring of love and support from all of you lovely people has not gone unnoticed. I hope that in some small way an unconventional body wearing an unconventional material opened up discussion, hearts and minds. I truly had no idea it would make anyone feel uncomfortable, I just wanted to try something different. All I'm saying, is do YOU, Boo! Wear what you want, love you love and treat people the way you want to be treated."

  • Tess Holliday

"Y'all out here thinking I'm done, that you can fuck with me, but you can't," Tess wrote on Instagram. "I'm not going anywhere #effyourbeautystandards."
