While Ben Affleck runs around with his new (to the public) girlfriend Lindsay Shookus, Jennifer Garner is giving the rest of us a crash course in taking the high road when dealing with a cheating ex. The mother of three appears to be handling the awkward and hurtful situation with an impressive amount of class.

Ben and Lindsay -- who've reportedly been seeing each other for years, even before his separation from Jen -- have been happily gallivanting around both New York and Los Angeles. As the paparazzi captures them flaunting their happiness, Jen is dealing with the aftermath by drawing from a variety of resources to cope and heal.

For starters, the 45-year-old is leaning on girlfriends during this difficult time. And what's a better cure for heartbreak than a little laughter? Pal Chelsea Handler is reportedly Jen's number one ally these days. The comedienne even wants to include some barbs about Ben and Lindsay at her upcoming gigs. According to In Touch Weekly, Jen is asking Chelsea not to go too far with her jokes about Ben, considering they share three kids. But Lindsay? All's fair in love and war.

Jen is also taking comfort in her kiddos, spending lots of quality time with Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. In what sounds like totally normal mom style, E! Online reports she even created a summer bucket list of fun things to do with them before school ramps up again.

The actress finds solace in what she knows -- church and old hobbies that make her feel good, like music and dance. "When the earth shakes, you go to what you know from childhood," Jen told Vanity Fair last year. "All of a sudden I'm sitting down at the piano. I went back to church. I sat down and wrote bad poetry all day because I was so sad. I needed a dance class; it reminded me of my fight scenes [in Alias] and how I missed that."

And, of course, no breakup regimen would be complete without a dose of exercise. Jen is regularly spotted getting her endorphins pumping at the gym. Although she doesn't seem like the type to go all "revenge body" on us, we imagine working through stress with a healthy workout feels amazing.

For anyone who has ever been burning by a cheating ex, there you have it -- the healthiest, classiest way to move on. Now if only we could get Jen to write a book so that we have all of her knowledge in one place.
