The next time you consider reaching out to someone using 140 characters or less, you might want to think about picking up the phone first. Aaron Carter is pissed brother Nick Carter used Twitter to reach out to him after his recent arrest -- and now the Internet and nosy folk alike are wondering what the hell is going on.

  • Backstreet Boys crooner Nick took to Twitter a day after his brother Aaron's arrest to express his concern and reiterate the importance of family.

Police arrested 29-year-old Aaron on DUI refusal and possession of drug-related paraphernalia along with marijuana possession, the Habersham County Sheriff's Office tells Entertainment Tonight.

  • People were not here for Nick's public declaration of affection and had no problem calling him out.

  • Aaron later released a statement about the incident and blasted Nick for using Twitter to reach out instead of picking up the phone.

"If my own blood [Nick] truly cared about my well-being, why wouldn't he call me directly and have a conversation instead of making this about him through a very public forum?" Carter says in his statement. "That's not cool at all to use me for his PR and kick me while I am down."

  • But the funny thing about phones is that you need someone's number to call -- a fact that Nick's wife, Lauren Kitt Carter, had no problem revealing.
