Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard Have Reportedly Been Shunned by Their Church

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard may have spent the majority of their married life together working as missionaries, but it sounds like their work may not be recognized.  Jill and Derick have supposedly been shunned by their church, meaning that TLC might have been funding their mission work. Yikes!

According to The Hollywood Gossip, sources close to the family say that Jill and Derick's work has now been rejected by the Southern Baptist Convention because they haven't met the requirements. It sounds like college coursework is required, which the couple never completed -- and without it, recognizing and funding their work in Central America is a no go.

If the money didn't come from the SBC, it had to have come from somewhere, right? It's possible the answer to that question is straight from TLC's pockets, which fans are already getting pretty upset about, since that makes this reality show a bit less real.

The good news? No matter who's funding the work, nobody can argue that Jill and Derick aren't actively making the lives of people in need much better, which is important. So maybe that's what matters most in this situation?

But since the mission work has been a huge part of their story line on Counting On, it makes sense that so many people want to know the truth -- and that's something we may never get.

Hopefully Jill and Derick will come clean soon ... but if not, maybe they'll eventually be able to find an organization to sponsor them. They've been working too hard not to be making a difference.
