It would have been a shock if this didn't happen. Not long after Kim Kardashian posted an adorable photo of Saint West in his car seat to Snapchat (and then Facebook), the mommy police came out in full force, proverbial guns blazing. The reason? Saint, who's only 18 months old, was facing forward in his car seat instead of rear, as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends.

Many people commented on how cute Saint is, because, come on:

But many others were quick to tell Kim she was in the wrong. "He is so cute, let's protect this handsome boy by making sure [he] is rear facing," one of Kim's fans commented on Facebook. "It's illegal to have a child facing forward in California that is less than 2 years old. Please turn his car seat around, it's not too late!" another added.

A few people came to Kim's defense, though. "I see the car seat police are on a mission! Typical putting their nose and opinion in when it wasn't asked!" one Facebook user remarked.

More from CafeMom:

Ultimately, the haters are right. The AAP advises parents to leave children rear-facing in their car seats until they reach the age of 2 or until they hit the maximum height and weight for their seat. Saint isn't quite 2 yet, but perhaps he's reached the height and weight.

Not surprisingly, this isn't the first time Kim has come under fire for the way she's put her children in their car seats. Back in 2014, Khloe Kardashian posted a photo of North where her car seat straps weren't tight enough, and yep, her followers were sure to let Kim know.

It's always a little obnoxious when "fans" feel the need to shame celebrity parents for what they're doing wrong. But in this case, maybe Kim will learn something new and fix her "mistake."

Or maybe she'll, you know, move on with her life, not caring what a bunch of random people have to say to her. Either/or.
