When most parents welcome a baby, their hearts immediately overflow with love and they vow that there's nothing they wouldn't do for their precious child. Little People, Big World stars Zach and Tori Roloff did just that, as they shared that they're ready to do whatever it takes to ensure their son, Jackson, born with achondroplasia (a common form of dwarfism), has the best future possible.

New dad Zach, who also has achondroplasia and couldn't be more proud of his newborn, opened up to People about the challenges his son may face as a result of the condition he shares.

"You have to encourage a dwarf child a little more because it will take them five steps to do what others can do in two," Zach, who is a soccer coach, told the mag. "But I knew, dwarf or not, I was going to parent my child with the mentality that not everyone gets a trophy. You have to earn it."

Wow. It's that trademark grit and determination that have served Zach well throughout his life. On the TLC reality show, the 27-year-old has been candid about the difficulties he's faced as a result of his condition.

Though most males with this form of dwarfism grow to an average height of 4'4" and enjoy a typical lifespan, Zach has undergone multiple surgeries and had significant health concerns related to his achondroplasia. Babies born with the condition can experience breathing issues as well as delayed muscle development. So Zach knows all too well what Jackson is up against.

In spite of what some may view as a challenging road ahead, the couple is undaunted. Jackson's mom, Tori, 26, a kindergarten teacher, is sure to be his constant cheerleader as well. While she says the couple knew their child had a 50 percent chance of inheriting the condition, "it didn't matter."

"We just knew we wanted to be parents, however God wanted it to happen," Tori told People.

If she had a wish for her son, though, Tori would like him to be just like his father.

"I just pray that he's caring and thoughtful, like his father," she said. "I just want him to be a good person."

Proving he's ready to be the perfect dad to his son, Zach added, "Whatever he wants to do in life, we're going to find a way to help him do it. That's our job in life now."

The couple's love for their growing family and positive attitude are already proving an inspiration for others. Zach shared how their lives are impacting those in similar situations,

"Tons of parents e-mail me to say what an inspiration we are for their kids, showing that it's possible for them to get married and have a family," he told People. "The other day we met a couple who have a dwarf child. They started watching our show and it made them feel that it was all going to be okay."

Wow. It has to be incredibly heartening to know that your lives are helping others feel inspired and empowered. Watching Zach and Tori raise their son with love and hope will no doubt bring comfort to those facing the same challenges. At the same time, the couple is raising awareness so someday that "big world" might be a much better place for all little people.
