The event was obviously as star-studded as it was celebratory, as celebrities got to honor their moms in a major way. This year it was hosted by La La Anthony and Anthony Anderson, who kept the audience laughing in between the tear-jerking tributes. CafeMom was there to join in all the momspiration -- and we watched as some of our favorite celebs gushed about their own moms, partners, and friends in an incredibly emotional and inspiring way.

We managed to catch some one-on-one time with Kelly Rowland, La La Anthony, and DJ Khaled on the red carpet -- but they definitely saved their best for the stage. The night was an emotional roller coaster, but here are some of our favorite tributes that had us in our feels.

1. Kelly Rowland
Kelly Rowland kept her tribute a secret, which had the audience buzzing the entire night. When she finally graced the stage, she honored her best friend -- and the night's cohost -- La La Anthony. Her tribute to La La was beautiful, and she abandoned her notes to speak from the heart about what a great friend and mother she is.

Kelly ended her speech by saying, "I thank you so much for picking up every single phone call, when it's happy or when it's sad, when it's anything. You are truly a remarkable woman, a remarkable friend, and a hell of a mother. And I couldn't be more proud of you."

2. Halle Berry
Halle Berry has been working with victims of domestic abuse for more than 10 years through a program called the Jenesse Center. She took the time to honor all the mothers at the center whom she's worked with and who are truly survivors. Berry honored one mother in particular, Yesica Mendoza, for being able to raise two young kids after surviving her abuse -- and going on to become a small business owner. Berry applauded Mendoza, saying, "These brave women ... are not just survivors; they are superheroes to their children, and, more importantly, examples to so many thousands of women who have yet to make the decision ... to change their lives."

3. Mary J. Blige
Mary J. Blige delivered one of the most moving tributes of the night. She spoke directly to her mother Cora Blige and had many of us wiping our eyes as the Queen of R&B herself tried to hold back her own tears. She credited her mother for teaching her to be strong and independent. Best of all, she surprised her mom -- and all of us -- by bringing out Gladys Knight, who gave an amazing performance of "Midnight Train to Georgia," which is Cora Blige's favorite song.

4. DJ Khaled
Known as a THE Snapchat legend and mega-producer, DJ Khaled started his tribute to his fiancée, Nicole Tuck, with an exclusive glimpse into their home life. He spoke about what an amazing mother she is to their son, Asahd. He had the audience almost in tears as he spoke from the heart about his love for Tuck: "I love you, I love you every second of every day, and my son loves you. And I got you for life ... this just real coming out my heart, ain't no speech, none of that."

Rap superstar Ludacris shed his usual hip-hop personality while honoring his mother, Roberta Shields. Luda spoke of self-doubt and growing up in an environment that may not have made it easy for him to achieve his dreams. He attributed his success to his mom, saying, "Mama, I love you with all of my heart; thank you for believing in me. You are everything."
