There's nothing more awww-inducing than seeing one of your favorite stars playing the role of a doting dad IRL -- and while many of the most popular male celebs out there don't have kids just yet, there are some we're pretty sure will make fantastic fathers if and when the time comes.

Whether they've spoken about their future plans for starting a family or exhibit other character traits that we associate with great parenting, all the guys on our list have serious paternal potential! Plus, it doesn't hurt that they're all totally swoon-worthy.

  • Alexander Skarsgard

Don't be fooled by the less-than-stellar dad he played in Big Little Lies -- the actual Alexander Skarsgard can't wait to be a family man.

"I love kids, I want to have kids," he said.

"I come from a very big household and dad has two young boys with his new wife. Growing up, my cousins lived in the same house and there were six of us, so that's what I'm used to," he explained.

Bet they're all super good-looking, too!

  • Liam Hemsworth

No baby bump rumors for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth at the moment, but that doesn't mean Hemsworth won't be up for the task should that day arrive -- just look at his face when he and Cyrus visited Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego!

  • Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston might play a bad guy on screen (Loki in The Avengers) and he's not exactly lucky in love IRL (RIP Hiddleswift), but the actor has a big heart, especially where kids are concerned: In 2013, Hiddleston traveled with UNICEF UK to Guinea, West Africa, to visit children and families, and has been involved with the organization on a number of projects including "Live Below the Line," through which he and many others survived for a week on less than a dollar per day.

"I've seen the difference UNICEF can do first-hand, at every level of care for malnourished children, in Guinea in West Africa," he explained on his UNICEF blog. "I undertook the 'Live Below the Line' challenge to raise awareness and support UNICEF in their commitment to save the lives of the poorest children in the world."

Okay, so Leo might have a bit of a rep as a ladies' man. But just because he doesn't seem ready to settle down doesn't mean he won't be an awesome dad someday -- with all the work he does to raise climate change awareness, he clearly cares about making the world a better place for generations to come!

  • Zac Efron

Zac Efron might not have announced any official plans to become a dad anytime soon, but onlookers who observed the actor and his now ex-girlfriend Sami Mir hanging out with their friends' kids said he's got the paternal instinct thing in spades.

"Zac and Sami were mutually super engaging with their friends' kids," the source told People. "It was so cute."

"You could tell that they had very paternal instincts as Zac even had one of the kids on his lap at some point," the source added.

Awwww! He's also made headlines for donating to children's charities -- another good sign!

  • Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson and longtime fiancée FKA Twigs have yet to tie the knot, but they've been considering parenthood for quite some time -- and Pattinson seems pretty into the idea:

"Definitely, although I still don't know when," he said in 2015.

"Sure I will have a child who is totally cool and confident. He or she will probably look at me every day and think, 'Why is this guy such a funny, quirky oddball?'"

Hey RPattz, that's what all kids think about their dads! (At least he won't have to worry about his real kids imprinting on werewolves.)

Harry Styles is still a little on the young side, but if the way he treats his fans is any indication, he'll be super sweet with his own kids one day: Not only does he always go out of his way to snap pics, he spent an entire song during a One Direction concert trying to help a girl being crushed by the crowd -- and even fulfilled a dying fan's last wish by spending the afternoon with her!

  • Elijah Wood

Sometimes referred to as "the nicest guy in Hollywood," former child star Elijah Wood is known for being "good-natured" and polite -- the kind of star who opens doors for waiters and compliments strangers. Just imagine the good manners he'd teach his kids!

Jon Snow may know nothing, but Kit Harington knows that his future plans include being a dad. When asked about his future aspirations by Paris Match, he answered:

"Probably, be really nice to everyone, have a couple of kids, get married, and just like, die without bothering anyone."

    Sounds sensible to us!

  • Chris Evans

Like Liam Hemsworth, Chris Evans has made dreams come true by visiting children in the hospital. But it was babysitting Chris Hemsworth's kids that really got Evans thinking about starting down the road to marriage and fatherhood.

"You get to a point where you want the next thing," Evans told E! News. "You see people who are just so happy and have great kids."

Here's hoping Captain American and Thor share photos of all the superhero-themed playdates to come!

  • Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran's got a rep as one of the nicest guys in the biz, helping fans with marriage proposals, visiting sick fans, donating to charities, and even giving an inspirational speech to kids who stutter. Plus, he's already thinking about starting a family once his touring days are over.

"I don't want to be touring when I have kids, I want to be nipping out now and then and actually being a father," he said.

You're only young once, so Creed's Michael B. Jordan has said he's focusing on his career for now -- but later on down the road, he hopes to start a (big!) family:

Marriage is pretty far out there. ... But both of my parents are still together. They've been together for 30 years, so family is really important to me. I always dreamed of having a big family.

So that's definitely something to look forward to in the future. But I told myself I would focus on my craft right now. You only have your 20s once. Sacrifice now and put the hard work and the time in and then things will be a little bit easier in the next phase.

  • Daniel Radcliffe

First of all, how cool would it be to have Harry Potter as your dad? Second of all, not only does Daniel Radcliffe want kids someday, he's already pretty good with them.

"It's a little way away, but that's something I would like," he said in July 2016.

"I've always liked kids, and I think I'm good with them," he added, then shared this hilarious anecdote:

Annie Penn, the continuity supervisor on the first four Potter films, had a daughter and I'd hang out with her because she was really funny. She came up to me once and was looking at my face, going, 'One, two, three, four.' I said, 'What are you doing?' and she replied, 'Be quiet, I’m counting the spots on your face!' I said, 'Thank you very much, you sweet child!'"

Jared Leto isn't a dad yet -- wait, or is he? From the comments he made to Rolling Stone last year, it sounds like he could be (?!), or at least that he would want to be.

"You never know," he said. "Someone could always come up to a show and give me a little surprise visit. 'Dad?' In a way, that would be kind of f--king beautiful. What an incredible surprise that would be!"

  • Jake Gyllenhaal

After playing a dad in the movie Southpaw, Jake Gyllenhaal opened up about his own dreams of becoming a dad someday -- as well as how he fell for his young costar in the film:

"I am not a father yet, but it is definitely a dream of mine, should I be lucky to have that to happen."

"I have nieces who I love deeply and I have children in my life I love deeply, but when I met Oona for the first time, I just fell for her," he said of actress Oona Laurence, who played his daughter. "Your heart opens up to her."

    So cute!
