Prince Charles may not be too happy about the latest tell-all about him -- it spills a lot, but not just the bad stuff. Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith's new book is called Prince Charles: The Passions and Paradoxes of an Improbable Life, and in it Smith reveals even more about Charles's relationship with Princess Diana, including how it all began and how Charles wasn't so sure about getting married. But the book also shares the sweet things he did for his kids.

Royal watchers have heard about this "cold feet" from Charles before. But it's interesting to hear more details about how Charles and Diana almost didn't get married. This would have meant there wouldn't be a Prince Harry or Prince William -- trickling down to no meeting of Kate Middleton, no Prince George, no Princess Charlotte. If you believe it, everything happens for a reason, and it's clear the marriage (and therefore the kids) were meant to be. So the wedding happened.

The cold feet, however, was going on before the proposal. Let's remember that Charles was 32 when he proposed to Diana, who was only 19. The prince's father, Prince Philip, told Charles that he needed to figure out where their relationship was going, to essentially ask her to marry or break up with her. He didn't think it was proper for him to string along a 19-year-old. (We think you should never string along anyone no matter what his or her age.) Was this a case of too much pressure from dad? Who knows. Despite the concern, Charles proposed and the rest is history.

And we're thankful for that for many reasons. One reason is that having kids and being a mother brought Diana so much joy -- and she was such a loving and incredible mom. This book also reveals that Charles was also a really loving dad, despite the fact some think otherwise. Even though he and Diana weren't always getting along so well, Charles would make sure to get home as soon as possible so he could be with the kids, giving them baths and tucking them in at night.

Plus, this generation of royals have done such amazing charitable work. There is so much good that they have put into this world.

Of course, there is quite a bit in the book about Camilla, and how he had loved her for so long, even before he met Diana. So if you're into some more gossip about the older royals, this tome has it.

We can't help but wonder if Megan Markle and Kate Middleton would ever dare to read it.
