The Thing Kate Middleton Is Doing for Princess Charlotte That She Couldn't for Prince George
It's usually the first kid that gets the most attention, especially with things like the first day of school, but that doesn't seem to be the case this time. Princess Charlotte is all set to start school next Thursday, September 5, at Thomas's Battersea, and according to reports, Prince William and Kate Middleton are planning on taking her together on her first day -- something Prince George totally missed out on.
Two years ago, William was forced to do the first day of school with George all by his lonesome.
The Duchess of Cambridge was newly pregnant with Prince Louis at the time, and suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness. Back in 2017, the palace released a statement, saying, "Unfortunately the Duchess of Cambridge remains unwell, and will not be able to accompany Prince George on his first day of school. The Duke of Cambridge will drop off Prince George this morning as planned."
According to reports, it's not a milestone Kate is willing to miss this time around.
Hello! magazine reports, "Kate is expected to do the school run with George and Charlotte on Thursday," and that the family will likely release photos to mark the occasion, as they did with George's first day, and even with Char's first day of preschool.
It sounds like Charlotte is pretty dang excited to be attending her big brother's school.
A source recently told People magazine, "She can't wait to be with George at big school. She's so excited about it all."
How cute is that? No doubt little Prince Louis is going to be beyond thrilled when they get home each day!
We love that William and Kate are such involved parents.
They could easily have a nanny take the kiddos to school, even on the first day, but they are trying to give them as "normal" a childhood as possible. And that includes doing the school runs -- something that is pretty regular for Kate. Heck -- she even reportedly dropped George off a day after giving birth to Louis in April 2018.
We're happy she's not going to have to miss Charlotte's big day!
