Adam Levine Is in Competition With Behati Prinsloo for an Adorable Reason

Let the games begin! Adam Levine admits he's competing against Behati Prinsloo over their daughter's first word -- and we can totally picture it. The 37-year-old Maroon 5 crooner recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show, where he broke down just how serious he is for his 6-month-old daughter Dusty Rose to say "dada" before she ever utters "mama." And trust us when we say Adam sounds pretty hell-bent on winning the word battle, LOL.

"I've been working 'dada' hard," Levine revealed to Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon. "You work on it really hard and you do slip it into every single thing you say. If she's being cute, you're like, 'Oh my God, Look at how cute you are! Dada!'"

Haha. So freaking true.

Seriously, what parent hasn't dropped random hints like this, hoping a lightbulb in a little one's head finally goes off that moves your kid to say, "Oh yeah, Dada"? A child's first words are a rite of passage that gives the most humble of parents bragging rights on the playground or at the next mommy group event.

What's funny is that Adam's desire for baby Dusty to say "dada" doesn't stop with his throwing the word into random sentences. No, this dad is on a quest to ensure "dada" is Dusty's first word -- even if it means going toe-to-toe with wife Behati.

"We've gotten some 'dada'-esque sounds but nothing concrete, but I'm working super hard at it," Levine mentioned to Jimmy Fallon. "And my wife is working 'mama,' so it's a battle to the finish."

I can totally picture this "showdown" where Adam and Behati square off in the most adorable and annoyingly perfect way.

Who knows whether Adam or Behati will come out victorious on their journey to get Dusty to say "dada" or "mama" as her first word. (Wouldn't it be funny if Dusty hit 'em with "nana" first?)

Adam might have a leg up against the competition, given Jimmy Fallon wrote a book about this very subject (Your Baby's First Word Will Be DADA).

It really is that serious, hahahaha.

May the force be with you both!
