Ah, what a time to be alive. Recently, a man destroyed several of Kim Kardashian's books at a Barnes and Noble in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Carl Puia, 74, was arrested on Monday after security footage from October 2016 was released. In the video, Puia can be seen pouring a red liquid over Kim's Selfish books, and leaving a long, typed note behind expressing his distaste for the selfie queen, as well as "people like her." Just when you think you've heard it all.

According to police, six of the coffee table books were "destroyed in the massacre and could not be revived." Puia apparently turned himself in to authorities. He was charged with criminal mischief and later released on a $2,500 bond.

This is Carl:

On the one hand, what Carl did was unnecessary and he did destroy Barnes and Noble's property -- and insulted our girl, Kim. But on the other, it's hard not to feel a little bad for him. As he is 74, something might not be quite right mentally with Carl -- and he didn't hurt anyone.

More from CafeMom:

TMZ is reporting that it isn't Kim that Carl hates necessarily, it's the fact that her "smut" is so easily accessible to kids. Apparently, a few days before the incident, he saw a young boy at Barnes in Noble grab a copy of Selfish. The boy's mother quickly grabbed the book away from him. Carl then asked the staff to display the books higher up, as not to be eye level with young kids, but a few days later when he returned, they were in the same spot. And that's when he decided to go back and destroy several copies.

More likely than not, Carl is a harmless guy who decided to make Kim Kardashian's risqué books his soapbox. Hopefully, he's learned his lesson that you just can't go into a public place and destroy its property. Though Kim, who's had a pretty traumatic few months, probably isn't happy with this news.

Can't a girl selfie in peace?
