Getting a call or a text from an ex is never easy, but it's even more conflicting when you've gone through a messy and public divorce that involved your hubby's stepping out with a superstar. That's right, you know who we're talking about. According to a source, Brad Pitt has been texting Jennifer Aniston. Yeesh! This is wrong on so many levels. Where to begin?

The source told Us Weekly that Pitt, who didn't have his former wife's cell number, actually went through a "tangled web" to wish her a happy birthday on February 11. (Talk about a birthday surprise -- and not necessarily a good one!)

Then, the source went on to add that the Fight Club star, 53, began confiding in the former Friends actress, 48, regarding the bitter divorce battle he's been locked in for months with the woman he left her for -- Angelina Jolie.

"Brad told her he's having a hard time with his split and they exchanged a few texts reminiscing about the past," the source reportedly told the outlet.

First of all -- if this is even true -- whoa, Brad. We know you're going through a tough time, but it sounds to us like you've picked the wrong shoulder to cry on. Sorry, dude, you didn't just burn that bridge -- you kinda blew it up.

Second, if Aniston didn't hit delete and block that number ... girl, what are you thinking? This guy put you through the wringer! Of course, Aniston could be having the last laugh and enjoying the glow of a big, fat "What goes around comes around" moment. But it doesn't sound like it.

Still, the way the Horrible Bosses actress handled her split from Pitt with grace and dignity served as an inspiration to scorned women everywhere. Hold your head high and move on. Still, we wish we could've seen her face once she realized who was texting her. We imagine it looked like this:

Third -- and speaking of moving on -- what about Aniston's husband, Justin Theroux? We can't imagine he's too thrilled with this whole reunion. (Remember how angry he got in The Girl on the Train? Brad, trust us, you do not want to see this guy upset.)

Also, anyone with an ounce of sense knows how these things go. A text leads to a call, which leads to coffee, which gets switched last minute to a cocktail, and then the rest is history.

But, according to the source, "Justin is okay with them being friends," and Theroux knows "Jen just wants to be nice."

Well, just watch out, Justin. And, Brad, we know you're having a rough time, but Jen is not your therapist. Find a different "friend."

It's not that you can't be friends with an ex, but the Aniston-Pitt parting certainly didn't seem mutual -- and that's what makes this story seem odd in so many ways.
