Amal Clooney, the globally recognized human rights lawyer who also happens to be married to George Clooney, is reportedly pregnant with twins! The couple's happy news was announced today in a slightly unconventional way: by host Julie Chen, on the CBS show The Talk.
"Beyonce is not the only superstar expecting twins," Chen said on the daytime show. "Congratulations are in order for George and Amal Clooney! The Talk has confirmed that the 55-year-old superstar and his highly accomplished 39-year-old attorney wife are expecting twins." Chen went on to say that she confirmed with George that the little ones are due in June. An insider confirmed the summer due date to Us Weekly.
And a source close to the couple tells People that Amal "has let everyone in both families know quietly. They're all very happy."
According to TMZ, tongues began wagging that Amal was pregnant when she attended a Netflix screening last month looking like she may have a baby bump. And while she was celebrating her 39th birthday earlier this month in Barcelona, the attorney's bump apparently looked a bit more prominent. (Not that we'd ever want someone trying to assess whether we are sporting bumps -- or lunch babies!)

Back in May 2015, George spoke with Charlie Rose on CBS This Morning and made it seem like fatherhood wasn't a priority. "I mean, I've thought about it, I suppose, but it hasn't been high on my list. I've been asked it a lot lately, because I've gotten married and I am doing a movie with kids in it. You should see how different, how creative the way they ask me!"
Being married (and doing a movie "with kids in it," heh) shouldn't automatically cause people to assume you're planning on becoming a parent. But it seems like after further consideration, George and Amal are heading down that path, which is certainly lovely news! And it's exciting that the famous couple and the whole world can look forward to welcoming their sure-to-be beautiful and brilliant offspring this summer. Congrats to them!
