Anyone who keeps up with The Real Housewives of New York City knows how messy Bethenny Frankel's split from Jason Hoppy was. They were married for three years, and it took four years for them to finally get divorced in July 2016. You'd think their official split would've made things a little better, but apparently not. Reports are surfacing that Jason Hoppy threatened Bethenny Frankel at their 6-year-old daughter Bryn's school, which led to his arrest -- and has us feeling so bad for this little girl, who, once again, will likely find herself in the middle of nonsense.

On January 27, Jason apparently thought it was a good idea to pick a fight with Bethenny at their daughter's school, where he reportedly told Bethenny (in front of her friend), "I will destroy you, you can get all the lawyers you want, you've been warned."

Obviously, that didn't sit too well with the reality star-turned-Skinnygirl mogul, as Bethenny reported Jason to the New York Police Department. This led to his arrest, and he was charged with aggravated harassment in the first degree, harassment in the second degree, and stalking in the fourth degree, Page Six reports.

"Ms. Frankel's decision to report Mr. Hoppy's abusive behavior followed years of systematic bullying, harassment, stalking and torment on an almost daily basis," Barry Zone, Bethenny's attorney, mentioned in a statement to People. The statement continued:

Mr. Hoppy has sent hundreds of escalating texts and emails to Ms. Frankel, her assistants and her boyfriend, demanding that she meet with Mr. Hoppy unnecessarily, stating that 'I'll never go away' and that '[y]ou left me no choice but to go to extremes,' claiming that her 'definition of harassment is comical' and that he will 'continue to communicate with [her] as [he] see[s] fit,' requesting copies of her life insurance policy, and telling her that 'I'll pray for you.'

Since the incident, a judge issued a restraining order against Jason Hoppy that, hopefully, will put some distance between these two.

People also reports Bethenny's camp sent her ex-husband a cease and desist order back in November to no avail, as an NYPD spokesperson said Jason has sent Bethenny harassing correspondence.

Man ...

All I can do is cross my fingers and hope to God that Bryn, somehow and someway, doesn't suffer as a result of all this craziness. I don't know what would possess Jason -- or any parent for that matter -- to allegedly act out at their daughter's school (as far as custody is concerned, that's probably not a wise decision), but good gracious.

This. Is. Messy.

My parents got divorced when I was 5, and I'm so thankful they were able to find ways to co-parent that didn't involve mudslinging and incidents that resulted in someone's arrest. I'm sure there were times when my mom and dad wanted to put each other in a headlock, but if there were, I certainly didn't hear or know about it -- because they didn't want any of the feelings they had for each other to affect me.

... Because it wasn't my fault.

Bryn deserves a childhood full of love, warmth, and tons of annoying kissing. Hopefully, she'll be able to have that from both of her parents without all this excessive nonsense.
