The Duggar family have been known to speak their minds and not shy away from cameras, reality shows, TV specials, or anything else that comes with territory of living their lives unashamed and in plain view. So, naturally, it shouldn't be all that much of a shock when members of this now-famous clan give comments based on their convictions and opinions.

While there's certainly nothing wrong with speaking your truth, the Internet always has a way of giving a piece of its mind and tossing things into the court of public opinion.

(And my, how the Internet loves to do just that.)

Here's a look at some of the most controversial comments the Duggar family have made to date. From taking a pro-life stance to possibly taking a dig at the transgender community, there's enough in here to leave peeps in disbelief or wonder what the heck is the big deal -- depending on how they feel about what was said.

After all, it wouldn't be controversial if it didn't make people's heads turn.

Supporting a March for Life Event

Is it really *that*shocking that a member of the Duggar family (many, actually) believe life begins at conception? And yet, some people were outraged to hear Jill (Duggar) Dillard supported a March for Life event. "Perhaps they should preach about encouraging vasectomies and stop punishing women all the time. The Duggars are enemies of women!" one Instagram commenter wrote.

Supporting Donald Trump

In the midst of this crazy political season and Donald Trump being the president of the United States, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar took to Facebook to show support for Trump. "Evangelicals played a huge role in Donald Trump becoming our new President this week," the couple wrote. "We all know that we need to see our country turn back to God." Needless to say, Duggar fans had mixed reviews. "God placed this man in office. I will pray for him," one fan wrote. " Respectfully agree to disagree ... I can't condone name calling and preaching a message of hate !!! I just can't !!!" snapped another.

Speaking Against the Evils of Greed

Does profiting from a reality show automatically disqualify you from talking about greed? Some people really like to think so. The Duggars caught flak for posting a scripture about money on Facebook, as some were quick to point out this beloved family was entering the land of hypocrites. "But you get paid to be on TV, make appearances, 'write' books, plus certain members have requested donations for unsupported missionaries, who seem to have just quit, rather that return to what was so important," one fan wrote in response.

Taking a Pro-Life Stance

Life wife, like husband. Derick Dillard upset Duggar fans with this pro-life tweet that kinda honored Jim Bob and Michelle's stillborn daughter (she died at 19 weeks' gestation), but really focused on being "pro-life ... from womb to tomb." And as you could imagine, many people didn't think it was appropriate. "What does pro life have to do with miscarriage? Why use a miscarriage to push your agenda?" questioned one Twitter commenter.

Sharing an Unexpected Truth about Santa Claus

Leave it to Derick to tell it like it is! Duggar fans seemed peeved Derick Dillard revealed Santa isn't real in a bold tweet that literally says, "Hey kids, Santa isn't real!" Obviously, he's not lying ... but still, people called party foul on Derick because his "revelation" could've upset children ... assuming they use Twitter.

Calling Out (Certain) White People

Is it wrong for someone to challenge people to rethink their actions? Apparently so. Ben Seewald's Instagram post about racism angered many Duggar fans -- some who had no problem calling Jessa's hubby "racist." Who knew that asking people to walk in love and unity is so wrong?

Making a 'Dig' Against the Transgender Community

It's not a distant thought to imagine the Duggars praying (we expect it!), but one of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's prayer requests turned heads, as some feel it was a dig against the transgender community. Making their list of prayer requests for their many kids, Michelle and Jim Bob added, "That our boys would be glad to be boys and our girls glad to be girls." Do you think this is bad?

Taking 'Advantage' of the System

What's a large family supposed to do if a restaurant has a kids-eat-free night ... go hungry? Jessa (Duggar) Seewald admitted her family "took advantage of the system," which shouldn't be that big of a deal considering there was no policy that said they couldn't (at the time). Still, some folks had an issue. (Insert eye roll.)

Being Insensitive to the Orlando Shooting

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were criticized for "insensitive" comments about the Orlando Shooting, and some consider this scripture bad timing. The duo shared this Facebook message shortly after the Pulse mass shooting that claimed the lives of 49 people. "This choice of scripture smacks of self-righteous, sanctimonious judgment. Have you no prayers or compassion for the victims of this horrific crime?" wrote one Facebook commenter. "Do you really think being gay is worse then being a child moleseter and adulterer like your son? You need to check your own house before you look at someone else's," said another.
