Blake Lively Spices Up Her People's Choice Awards Speech With 2 Special Shout-Outs

This celebrity couple never misses an opportunity to tell the world just how much love they have for each other. But, while accepting her People's Choice Award for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress, Blake Lively not only gave a shout-out to hubby Ryan Reynolds -- she also acknowledged some surprising childhood heroes for the empowerment they represented and celebrated.

The mother of two, who won for her performance in the thriller The Shallows, naturally thanked her better half, saying, "Thank you to my husband, who's everything to me."

Apparently someone else in the audience was a fan of the Deadpool actor as well -- because when cheers erupted, Lively let the fan know Reynolds is all hers, stating, "You can't have him, he's mine!"

It's sweet to hear how open these two are about their relationship. While receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the actor said, "I want to thank my wife, Blake, who is sitting right there who is everything to me."

Sounds like every day is Valentine's Day in the Lively-Reynolds house!

But before acknowledging her hunky husband, Lively paid homage to the 1990s super-group the Spice Girls and shared that it had been her dream to meet the fab five. What made them so special to the Café Society star? She explained her fangirl status:

What was so neat about them was they were all so distinctly different and they were women and they owned who they were and that was my first introduction [to] girl power. And I'm watching this movie and the women nominated in this category and when you guys voted for this, you didn't just vote for this movie or me but you voted for girl power.

No easy feat, Lively's performance in the beach thriller -- in which she takes on a great white shark -- beat out Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, Julia Roberts, and the venerable Meryl Streep for the crystal statue.

In order to get bikini-ready for the film, Lively put in what sounded like a seriously grueling postpartum workout. But clearly it paid off. Talk about girl power! Sometimes it's enough just to take a shower and go for a walk after giving birth. We can only imagine the challenge Lively took on and overcame to get back in tip-top shape in a healthy way in such a hurry.
We can't help but wonder if, thanks to her speech, young viewers will rediscover the wonder of Posh, Scary, Baby, Sporty, and Ginger Spice? Also, Lively noted that she still hasn't accomplished her goal of meeting the pop group. So we have to ask -- please, Spice Girls, can you make it happen?!
