With all the shocking celebrity breakups of 2016 (Brangelina, we're looking at you!), it's no wonder we want to see a whole lotta love in the new year. Plenty of stars seems perfectly matched -- if only they'd just admit it!

Some of these pairs have hooked up in the past, while others may only know each other in passing. Still, we think these duos could have a great shot at romance in 2017. Here's hoping!

  • Chris Evans & Jenny Slate

This couple, who met on the set of Gifted (which comes out in 2017), went public with their romance in June, just a few months after Slate announced her split from her husband of three years. Though we've read that Slate's bawdy humor is often too much for Evans, we hope they can stay together through 2017!

  • Ben Schwartz & Gina Rodriguez

@Parisa / Splash News; Splash News

In early 2016, everyone was hoping rumors that Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez and House of Lies actor Ben Schwartz were dating were true -- so much so that their eyes were (mistakenly) peeled for signs of an engagement. Well, whatever was or is going on with these two, we hope they become a thing in the new year.

  • Brad Pitt & Kate Hudson

The rumors that they were dating were debunked, but newly single dad Brad Pitt would be pretty perfect for hot mama Kate Hudson. Both are hands-on parents with interesting careers -- and we don't think Kate (who has called Brad "very, very handsome") would turn him down. Maybe someone should arrange a playdate for the kids in 2017 and see if sparks fly?

  • Annie Clark & Kristen Stewart

Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, and KStew made their red carpet debut in October -- and it was nice to see a smile on the Twilight star's face. We'd like to hope these two are soul mates and that we see more of the duo in the new year.

  • Drake & Jennifer Lopez

Rick Davis / Splash News; Rick Davis / Splash News

Based on the cozy Instagram both J.Lo and Drake shared days ago, it certainly seems like these two might possibly be an item (or, at least, they aren't denying the speculation). Plus, Drake seems to be a big fan of Jenny from the Block, attending two of her Vegas shows. While the official word is that they're working on a project together, these two deserve some fun and a fresh start in the romance arena in 2017.

  • Chris Martin & Gwyneth Paltrow

Leo Marinho / Splash News; Image Press / Splash News

Though they've consciously uncoupled and even signed divorce papers, Gwyneth recently said her ex would "take a bullet" for her.  The actress and the Coldplay frontman spend tons of time together, supposedly for the sake of their adorable kids, Apple and Moses -- but something tells us they're not just contributing "something positive to the culture of divorce" and that they're still just happy to be in each other's company.

  • Taye Diggs & Sanaa Lathan

Mr Photoman / Splash News; Aficionado Group / Splash News

These two have starred together in films, so why not get together IRL? From Brown Sugar to Best Man Holiday, this pair has known each other for a while (and obviously had major on-screen chemistry), so why not give it a go?

  • Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck

    Splash News

Okay, so these two are separated, but Ben recently gushed about Jen's amazing skills as a mom, making us wish they'd just get back together already! Reportedly, they're still sharing the same estate, so there wouldn't be much moving required.

  • Zac Efron & Taylor Swift

@Parisa / Splash News; Jawad Elatab / Splash News

The actor and the sexy songstress were linked earlier this year, although Tay Tay quickly squashed those rumors, saying, "He's awesome, we are not a couple though." Maybe it just wasn't the right time for EfSwift? Oh, that doesn't have a great ring to it. Perhaps Swiftron? Not to get too far ahead of ourselves but how gorgeous would their kids be?

  • B.J. Novak & Mindy Kaling

Derek Storm / Splash News; 247PAPS.TV / Splash News

These Office costars (who used to date and are now besties) are some of the funniest writers around, so why can't they just finally get together as a couple? They're both adorable and we can only imagine the witty banter they'd have, making them the ultimate double-date duo.

  • Carrie Brownstein & Fred Armisen

    Splash News

After watching Portlandia season 7, we feel like it's almost impossible not to want to see these two together. Even when they're spoofing couples, they get it so right, it seems only natural that they become one. Brownstein has dated both men and women, so we're hoping this one could be in the future for her. She's even described their kinship as "one of the most intimate, functional, romantic, but nonsexual relationships we've ever had."

  • Nick Jonas & Selena Gomez

Derek Storm / Splash News; Jen Lowery / Splash News

The singers have been linked in the past -- and they look pretty darn cute together. So why not give it another go, right? Gomez, while discussing their "puppy love" back in 2008, admitted last year that she does "have a love for him" (aw!). Meanwhile, Jonas has been vocal about how smart he finds the "Good for You" singer. And we know how important it is to find a guy who appreciates you for your mind.

  • Jordan Clarkson & Kendall Jenner

AdMedia / Splash News; Gigi Iorio / Splash News

The LA Laker and the model enjoyed a pre-Christmas shopping trip and looked pretty chummy. Plus, we've seen Jenner on the sidelines of Clarkson's games and we know the Kardashian-Jenners have a thing for athletes. We think they look great together.
