No rest for the weary. In addition to the many responsibilities Kate Middleton already has, the Duchess has been given two new patronages recently. Earlier on this week, it was announced that Queen Elizabeth was dropping patronages with 24 organizations, but was passing along her affiliations with some of the bodies to other members of the royal family. Kate's new patronage is Action for Children, which, let's be honest, couldn't be a more perfect fit.

Action for Children helps support some of the UK's most neglected children and young people -- an issue that is near and dear to the Duchess's heart. Kate already visited two of the charity's locations February of last year -- Cape Hill Children's Centre and Sandwell Family Partners in Birmingham -- so clearly this is a well thought-out decision and a good fit.

Also, not surprising is the fact that the chief executive of Action For Children, Sir Tony Hawkhead, is "thrilled" to have Kate on board. "It is a great honor to begin what I am sure will be a long association with a member of the royal family, with whom we already have a relationship following visits to some of our services in 2015," he said in a statement, adding, "The Duchess has an interest in many of the issues our teams deal with across the UK, particularly around emotional well-being and mental health."

In addition to Action for Children, Kate will be heading up All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) Wimbledon, which, yet again, sounds like an ideal pairing for the sporty royal.

In the past year or so, Kate has really come into her own as a member of the royal family. She's shown the public exactly which issues are most important to her -- children, mental health, art -- and she's bulked up her workload quite a bit. No doubt, in the years to come, she'll make enormous contributions to the organizations she supports, as well as to England as a whole, which, let's be honest here, isn't exactly fun times for a lot of people lately.

She may have been the one to marry a prince, but Prince William scored big time when he met Kate. Beauty, brains, and a big heart. Not bad, Willy. Not bad at all.
