Yikes, sounds like Kim Kardashian's Paris robbery in October took a major toll on husband Kanye West  -- so much so, that's it's being blamed for his recent breakdown. Initially, "extreme sleep deprivation and stress" were cited as the causes for Kanye's hospitalization, but a new report reveals that Kanye was so affected by Kim's robbery that it set him off into a paronoid tailspin.

Sources confirmed to ET Online that weeks before his hospitalization, the rapper was suffering from "severe paranoia" and "hallucinations" brought on by a "lack of sleep." Kanye's issues have been credited both to his intense workload, and the stress of Kim being held at gunpoint in Paris. "He pushed himself too much," an insider revealed. "The Paris incident unsettled everyone, but it unsettled him the most. He had this anxiety that everyone around him was trying to get him." The source said that Kanye's severe paranoia wasn't over anything that was tangible or real. "He was thinking that people were out to kill him, out to break him and Kim up. It was Kanye vs. the whole world," the source said.

Doctors are yet to give Kanye a specific diagnosis, but supposedly he's on the mend and wants to get help. People close to the situation assure that Kanye will "still be Kanye" and go on crazy rants and hijack stages at awards shows, but he'll -- hopefully -- have a better grasp on what's real and what isn't.

We all knew that Kanye was deeply affected by his wife's robbery -- who wouldn't be? -- but nobody knew it was this bad. Hopefully, with ample sleep and minimal stress, Kanye will go back to his old, non-paranoid self. Off the wall rants and all.
