Kendall Jenner Explains Her Sudden Exit From Instagram

It's rare, though not unheard of, for celebrities to delete their social media accounts, but they typically give us some notice before pulling the plug. And that's why Kendall Jenner is explaining why she suddenly deleted her Instagram account a couple of days ago. 


She discussed the hiatus on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and it turns out that her decision to delete her account was just a moment of technology overwhelm that required some solace. She, like the rest of us, had an epiphany -- noticing just how much social media dictated her life. And in case you hadn't noticed, she also hasn't been on Twitter, but she hasn't deleted that account -- only the app.

I just wanted to detox. I felt like I just wanted a little bit of a break. I'm always on it ... I would wake up in the morning and I would look at it first thing, I would go to bed and it was the last thing I would look at. I felt a little too dependent on it, so I kinda wanted to take a minute to detox.

And, believe us, she's just like us in the sense that she assures us that after two days she'll definitely be back, because two days without the 'gram -- well, it's pretty damn hard to do in this day and age. She joked that "withdrawals are starting to occur."

No, but seriously -- we feel your pain and we're not even the ones who gave it up. We want to support this detox, but the millennial in us just can't -- come back now, Kendall. Please. However, it comforts us to know that this is not a final thing. We're not sure we could handle it if both she and Kim went ghost from social media.
