Ryan Reynolds's Story About Knowing Blake Was 'The One' Is Stinkin' Adorable

Jackie Brown/Splash News

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are, in our very objective and definitely not at all biased opinion, the most perfect couple in all of Hollywood. But they're not here for any "it was love at first sight" bullsh*t -- they've been saying forever that they were "buddies" (Ryan's word, lol) long before they started dating, and Ryan just opened up to GQ about the moment with Blake when he, you know, knew. It's a really stinkin' adorable story, in case you were worried anything to do with this couple would be less than perfect.

According to Ryan, it went something like this:

... we were hanging out at this little restaurant in Tribeca that's open really late, and this song came on and I was just like, 'Want to dance?' No one was in there, so it was just totally empty. And it was just one of those moments where halfway through the dance, it was like, 'Oh, I think I just crossed a line.' And then I walked her home. And, uh, you know, I don't really need to go into what happened after that.

Ryan didn't mention how far into their courtship (do people still call it that?) this was, but we get the sense it was fairly early. We also get the sense these two were made for each other. Is that just us?

At any rate, GQ tried to get Ryan to spill what the song he and Blake danced to was, but he wouldn't tell. ("I do [remember], but I'm not gonna say. You're shut out," were his words.)

Whatever. We'll still speculate. It was 2012 when Blake and Ryan started dating, so was "their song" that Lumineers song everyone loved then? Or "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together""Gangnam Style"?? (Apparently 2012 was a weird year for music?)

Here's one more thing to speculate about: Blake and Ryan both Instagrammed from what's apparently their favorite restaurant in New York for Ryan's 40th birthday. Could this be THE restaurant where Ryan knew she was the one? It's not in Tribeca, so it's definitely not, but who doesn't want to look at these photos?! (Hey, at least they tell us where Blake realized she was smitten.)

The couple is notoriously private, so we may never know. But it's fine -- we'll have fun guessing until they decide to spill.
