Sadly, 2016 was fraught with a lot of heartbreak. Several of our favorite celebrity couples bit the bullet, leaving us pleading for the news not to be true and inevitably mourning their (and our) losses -- hard. But despite the sudden splits of longtime pairs and breakups of some relationships that barely had a start, a number of couples made it through and renewed our faith in the idea of finding happily ever after.

To highlight these shining stars that bring us hope, we've gathered a our favorite famous couples -- from those newly wed to those who simply continue to spoil us with their adorable Instagram moments. Yep, they've pretty much made us fall in love with love all over again.

  • Chrissy Teigen & John Legend

A photo posted by John Legend (@johnlegend) on

There is no couple that gives us #RelationshipGoals quite like John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. Since they're not shy to spread their love on social media, we're used to getting our daily dose of cuteness from them -- especially with those adorable baby Luna moments!

And in the wake of the recent events that have left many divided, they've given us even more inspiration. To promote the "All of Me" crooner's new song "Love Me Now" and address turmoil in this country as a family, John asked fans via Instagram to simply love more. That's a message that we can get behind!

  • Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds

Talk about a perfect match! We've seen their chemistry on the big screen. But ever since Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds secretly tied the knot 2012, any little tidbit that we get about the private pair's relationship -- aside from film promo and Blake's Gossip Girl–worthy maternity style -- has us swooning.

Just recently, Reynolds revealed in an interview the details of when he knew he was truly in love with his wife, which happened one (we can only imagine romantic) night over dinner and an impromptu dance at a Tribeca restaurant. This couple is straight out of a movie, and we love it!

Picture perfect doesn't even begin to describe Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo, who've shared bits of their pregnancy journey on social media for us all to see. The Voice coach and the Victoria's Secret model welcomed daughter Dusty Rose back in September and are giving us family goals on the regular.

  • Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux

When a relationship is right, you know, and that seems to be the truth for Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, who got married back in August 2015. Looks like they've found true happiness together, and each time the pair are caught on the red carpet, it shows. It doesn't hurt that Justin kind of embraces being called Mr. Jennifer Aniston, as he recently said:

[Jennifer] is a proper badass. She has lived through a lot of bulls--t. Many people would have crumbled under some of the stresses that have been put on her. I'm very proud of her for that, for the way she handles herself. So, in a weird way, it's an honor to stand behind her. Truly, in that sense, she's amazing.

  • Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel

    BxPix/Splash News

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel still find a way to make us watch them -- even after four years of marriage. The duo recently caught our eye as the pair and their son Silas adorably paraded around for Halloween as real-life Trolls characters from JT's recently released film.

There's a rumor going around that the singer might be ready to have another child (as he said he's "having a lot of fun practicing"), so maybe we'll see another little addition running around soon. (Please, guys?) Either way, we're just enjoying all the love in this family.

  • Anna Faris & Chris Pratt

    PG/Splash News

These two jokesters are known for the hijinks -- on the screen, on the red carpet, and in family photos. Chris Pratt and Anna Faris never disappoint, always giving us sweet and laughable moments, especially when it comes to their son Jack. If you keep up with their Instagrams, you'll see no shortage of fun family times.

  • Kim Kardashion & Kanye West

    Splash News

Kim Kardashian-West has gone through a lot in recent months, but we can bet that husband Kanye West has been a rock for the reality show star. He did leave a concert the instant he found out about Kim's robbery in Paris. While it may be a rarity to catch Kayne emotional, he made it clear in his actions that family comes above all else. And that's love!

  • Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan Tatum

    We had to. #stepup10years

Ten years ago, audiences first noticed the undeniable chemistry between Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum on camera in Step Up. And after seven years of marriage and having daughter Everly, Tyler and Nora (for fans of the film) still got it! As you can see in this adorable Instagram post, the couple reenacted the final dance scene from the movie back in August. Time may fly by, but not this love. This duo keeps us saying, "Aww!"

  • Michelle & Barack Obama

President Obama and the First Lady have definitely earned the title of America's most beloved couple. Over the last eight years, we've had the privilege of getting to actually see how much they love each other. One thing that's for sure is that Barack and Michelle Obama are true partners -- and friends -- and, with Sasha and Malia, a model First Family.

They may be leaving the White House (are you already crying as much as we are?), but here's hoping that we'll continue to see this couple that truly embodies the American Dream.

These two are a testament to the fact that you can find love in the most unexpected places. Both stars were knee-deep in divorce when they basically turned a friendship into a relationship -- that is still going strong, might we add.

Gwen Stefani recently gave a shout-out to Blake Shelton at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards and remarked that he "kissed [her] back to life" in an acceptance speech. So for all of you naysayers, these two are the real deal.

  • Chris Hemsworth & Elsa Pataky

Time and time again, we've seen how the media can turn on celebrity relationships. But after Women's Day Australia reported that Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky were having marital problems, this couple proved that love trumps gossip every time.

In response to the rumors that he and Elsa were "taking a break," the Thor: Ragnarock star posted a photo of himself and his wife of six years, and wrote in the caption:

Looking for a new wife according to @womansdayaus and other misleading outlets! Honey you still love me right?! @elsapatakyconfidential #thanksfortheheadsup.

Elsa got in on the action, too, by posting another adorable snap of them, with a caption reading, "Always and forever!!"

  • Michael Phelps & Nicole Johnson

Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson literally said "I do" twice this year, but the two jumped the broom publicly on October 29 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Both have made it clear that they're not only in love (and parents to cute baby Boomer), but best friends, too (seriously, look at that hashtag). Yep, this duo shows that there really is no one better to spend your life with than your BFF

  • Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes

    Splash News

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes may be one of Hollywood's most private couples. The Lost River actress and the Nice Guys star have managed to successfully keep the media out of their personal life -- especially Eva's pregnancies with daughters Esmeralda and Amada.

Can't say we blame them for wanting to keep their relationship and little family away from the cameras. These two have been dating for about five years (amid plenty of false rumors that they are also married -- again, with the secrets!), and every time we get a little peek into their lives, we see that it's clear they know what they're doing.

  • Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are by far the coolest and most creative dads, as they prove over and over again with their festive family costume posts on social media. This year's was a throwback to old Hollywood!

These two have been together for more than 10 years, and married back in 2014 -- but each year they continue to share their milestone moments and show us what love is all about.

  • Prince William & Kate Middleton

    Splash News

The love story of Prince William and Kate Middleton is one that the world will never forget. But, unlike in the movies, we actually get to see the happily ever after play out IRL -- and it's royally adorable. With the addition of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the world has fallen in love with this family over and over.

  • Ciara & Russell Wilson

There's no couple that renewed our faith in happy endings more than Ciara and Russell Wilson. The lovebirds wed back in July, and Ciara is a true example that you can start all over -- despite past heartbreaks -- and find love again. As the two recently announced that they are expecting their first little one together, their future definitely looks bright.

  • Jay Z & Beyonce

    Johns PKI/Splash News

Beyonce and Jay Z are probably one of the world's favorite power couples. And despite all those rumors after Bey's famous Lemonade drop (hey, she did what she had to do, right?), we've seen nothing but cute moments from the pair and daughter Blue Ivy. It seems Queen Bey has her King, the Carters are happy, and they're all sipping lemonade together.

  • Emily Blunt & John Krasinski

    Splash News

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt have their hands full with two little girls and busy acting careers, but recently the Hollars actor spoke on how they make their relationship work. The answer: dates. John says they make time for each other, and still go out once a week by themselves. That's something we can all try. Besides, you can't forget what made you fall in love in the first place.
