Looks like it was quite the party, but where was the princess? Prince William hosted an elaborate event at Kensington Palace this week, which included famous guests like Ellie Goulding, Elizabeth Hurley, Joan Collins, and cousin Princess Beatrice.

It looks like Kate Middleton missed out on the fun, though! What, was she busy tucking the royal children into bed or something? We're not exactly sure, but at least Will was able to host the event, because it wasn't just a party -- it was for a very charitable cause.

The Duke of Cambridge welcomed 420 guests to the palace on November 10 to raise $1.9 million for Centrepoint, an organization that helps the homeless. The charity was a favorite of Princess Diana's, and Will makes sure to host an event every year. The charity is described as working "tirelessly to provide young homeless people with a positive future."

British singer Craig David performed along with Ellie Goulding, and Prince William joked on stage, "Last time I was on this stage I performed a duet with Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift. Craig [David] and Ellie [Goulding] will be spared that horror tonight."

Ah, come on, Will! We would've loved it.

George and Charlotte's dad got real about the serious nature of youth homelessness, though, saying, "This evening is a celebration of everything young people are capable of when they are given the support that they need. The young people of Centrepoint have come through experiences that could have broken the resolve of any one of us."

Add this to the list of reasons we adore Prince William. If he is going to hang out with celebs instead of his lovely wife, you can be sure it's for a dang good cause.
