Kim Kardashian Confesses She Was 'Embarrassingly Obsessed' With Becoming Famous
She's one of the most famous people on the planet, and possibly for a good reason. Kim Kardashian just opened up in a new cover interview for Vogue Arabia about her "obsession" with fame, and honestly, it seems like it was a driving force for why she worked so hard to create the empire she has now.
She may be a (relatively) down-to-earth mom of four now, but Kim admitted that she used to be obsessed with becoming famous.
The 38-year-old confessed in an interview with husband Kanye West, 42, that although "money was always the goal," she was also "obsessed with fame, like embarrassingly obsessed." She added, "I do agree that fame can be addictive. But now, my focus has shifted."
She doesn't regret living her life in the public eye, though -- either on social media or on over 10 years of 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians.'
"Even in my darkest of times I don't regret putting myself out there for the world to see," she revealed. "People have shared with me over the years how much it has helped them to feel less alone when dealing with their own adversity."
She continued, "I love having a voice and I appreciate the platform that I have been given, even though I do wish I could have more privacy at times."
These days she seems more obsessed with pursuing her path to becoming an attorney and fighting for criminal justice and prison reform.
Kim has used her immense popularity to help numerous nonviolent offenders to be released from prison after serving unfair sentences. She's now doing an intense internship with some attorney mentors, and preparing to take the California Bar Exam in 2022.
In an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, she revealed that her dad, famed lawyer Robert Kardashian, "always taught me that hard work is really important and to really commit to things." She added, "So my goal would be in like, 10 years, to give up being Kim K and just focus on this and be an attorney and fight for so many deserving people."
We're not sure how she finds time to do it all, but we believe one thing about Kim -- if she says she'll do it, she'll do it.
After all, she was "obsessed" with becoming famous, and now her face is recognized around the world. If she's "obsessed" with studying the law and fighting for much-needed reform for those overlooked by the system -- she'll do it. And maybe it's that fame that's going to help her accomplish it.
That being said, we're glad to know that she cares a lot more about being an awesome mom and helping others than she does about being famous these days.
