Kate Middleton & Prince William Honor Diana in the Most Touching Way

kate middleton, prince williamWith her effortless grace and sense of style, most would agree that Kate Middleton has done a pretty great job of carrying on Princess Diana's legacy (and passing on her very good-looking genes!). So it was no surprise to see Kate and Prince William visiting Francis House, a hospice in Manchester for children and young adults, on Friday: It's the very same hospice Princess Diana visited 25 years ago!

Over 370 children, teens and young adults with serious conditions are cared for at Francis House, opened by Princess Diana in 1991:

Love that plaid! Like Diana, Kate and William have made children and hospice care a focus in their charity work, and according to Natalie Hands, clinical leader of Francis House, Prince William commented on the family connection during their visit.

“I was saying I was here when Princess Diana opened Francis House 25 years ago, and he said it’s nice to have the family connection and that it feels very family here,” Hands is quoted as saying in People.

It certainly looks as though the royal couple were welcomed like family members: 

So sweet! It's safe to say Will and Kate got as much out of their interactions with these kids as the kids did themselves (if not more). Kate, in particular, seems to have a way with the little ones: After meeting a 5-year-old blind girl named Angel, Angel's mother, Sharon Nelson, said that her daughter preferred Kate's voice to William's:

“When the prince was talking to her she didn’t respond,” Nelson said. “But as soon as she heard the princess’s voice she started to smile.”

Awwww! We'll just take that as further proof that Kate is an amazing mom, like we always thought. Continuing the work Diana felt so passionately about is truly a lovely way to honor her memory. The same traits everyone cherished so much in Diana -- her kindness, her selflessness -- are alive and well in her family, thanks in large part to her daughter-in-law!
