The describe the costume as:

She has devoted her life to promoting American decadence, youth, and hedonism but all that flashy living caught up with her one night in Paris when armed men bound her, stole her jewelry and her peace of mind. I'm not sure that there will ever be an appropriate time to joke about the safety of any individual -- no matter how little you like them or whatever other excuse people have made for joking about or downplaying the matter. But now, just a week after the incident, is most definitely not the time to profit off of someone else's pain.

The reality is that despite who she is to you (the public) -- Kim K, notorious nudie socialite turned entrepreneur -- at home, she's someone's mother, daughter, sister, and wife. So her safety, or lack thereof, is not meant to be made amusing or added to some petty agenda. It's real and valued.

If this doesn't resonate with you then I'm going to tell you something I learned back in pre-school (or something like that) and it's really simple: treat others how you'd want to be treated. I can't imagine that any one of us would like to have light shed on being violently robbed.
