Ryan Lochte & Model Kayla Rae Reid Are Engaged & You Want to See This Ring RN

Love was in the air this weekend as Ryan Lochte took girlfriend Kayla Rae Reid on a private helicopter ride and then proposed during a picture-perfect Los Angeles sunset. The happy couple, of course, quickly turned to social media to share photos of the stunning ring.

Not much is known about the custom-designed sparkler except for the fact that the platinum setting looks like it holds a pretty massive Radiant-cut diamond -- and the bride-to-be appears thrilled.

Kayla, a Playboy model, seems to have been taken by surprise by the proposal (or at least by the massive rock), captioning her own scenic pic with, "Speechless. Absolutely beautiful. So in love with YOU."

The photo's background is just as gorgeous as the engagement ring, with the couple standing on a cliff in Malibu with the sun setting behind them.

The pair largely kept their relationship under wraps and shrouded by a ton of mystery. Although Kayla was spotted with Ryan in Rio during the Olympics, he was quick to tell NBC that he was single during the games. Since, though, she been supportive in the audience during his quite contentious turn on Dancing with the Stars. And he's even given a few hints that he was going to pop the question.

The happy news comes at a time when Ryan could use a positive turnaround, particularly after he made negative headlines (of his own doing) after falsifying a story that he was involved in a robbery in Rio. Kayla has reportedly been a strong support system for the athlete during the tumultuous time, with even Ryan, just days before the proposal, telling USA TODAY Sports: "My family says, 'Don’t you think it’s a little too soon?' I'm like, 'Can you put a time on love? Can you?' ... When I realized this was 'the one' was when she stuck behind me through this."

While there are no details yet about a wedding date, we're sure the swimmer has learned enough moves to seriously nail during their first dance.
