"First comes love, then comes marriage" ... orrrr a baby. These days, many people (celebs included) are doing things their way when it comes to their happily ever after and starting a family. Some opt for the traditional route, donning white attire down an aisle before saying "I do" and heading off to a reception. Others might decide to skip the whole marriage thing and focus on their love without titles documented by the government. And then there are those who find themselves expecting sooner than later and make a mad dash for the married life before baby arrives.

A "shotgun wedding" is thought to be a wedding with a super quick turnaround -- likely because the bride-to-be also happens to be a mom-to-be. Imagery of a loving father "gently nudging" his pregnant daughter's beau -- maybe with a shotgun -- so he can make an "honest" woman out of her might sound archaic to some but still seems to be a thing. In fact, a number of our favorite stars have taken this pathway to "till death do us part," whether it was intentional or not. Some unions stand the test of time, while others end in divorce which might suck, depending on how the people involved feel about each other.

Here's a look at celebrities who took the fast track down the aisle with a bun in the oven and marriage on their minds.

And in September, they welcomed their first child together, daughter Ava Phillippe.

Though the pair has since consciously uncoupled, Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin's wedding was likely a shotgun trip down the aisle ... technically. The pair met while Chris was on tour to promote his album A Rush of Blood to the Head. Martin asked Paltrow to come backstage after one of his Los Angeles shows in 2002. They got married in December 2003, and their first L.O. daughter, Apple, was born five months later in May -- making Gwyneth about four months pregnant at the time of their "I do"s.

Though Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett are divorcing, they did have close to nine years together as husband and wife -- which is kind of an eternity by Hollywood standards. Looking back at their special day, the Playboy Mansion set the stage for a small, civil ceremony between the Girls Next Door beauty and former NFL in June 2009. The couple, who were expecting a child at the time, even recorded themselves talking to Kendra's pregnant baby belly prior to the ceremony.

It comes as no surprise that Hollywoods's ultra low-profile couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in New York City Hall back in 2005. So, just how low-key was the event? The only family member present for Matt Damon and Luciana Barrosa's affair was Barrosa's daughter Alexia. Three months pregnant with their first of three daughters together, Luciana walked down the courthouse aisle.

Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Mira Sorvino is a testimony to the cliche that men like older women. In June 2004, the actress married hubby Christopher Backus, 16 years her junior, while the star was pregnant with the couple's first child. Three weeks after their private low-key wedding, Sorvino and Backus held a larger ceremony in front of family and friends in Capri.
