Kate Middleton's First Solo Overseas Trip Has Been Announced

She's flying solo! Shortly after her family returns from their Canada tour (which starts on September 24), Kate Middleton will pack up again and head out for another overseas trip -- this time by herself, though. The duchess is heading to the Netherlands on October 11 for a whirlwind day-long tour, solo-style. Hold the fort down, Prince William!

Kate will be making the trip in order to host a roundtable discussion at the British Ambassador's Residence in The Hague with two of her biggest charities -- Action on Addiction, which helps families dealing with drug and alcohol abuse, and the Anna Freud Centre, which helps children dealing with mental health issues. The future Queen of England will also visit The Hague and Rotterdam, as well as meet with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. She'll complete her 24-hour trip with a visit to Mauritshuis to see the art exhibition, "At Home in Holland: Vermeer and his Contemporaries from the British Royal Collection." Something art-lover Kate will surely enjoy.

More from CafeMom:

Kate was supposed to make her first solo overseas trip to Malta in 2014, but had to cancel it at the last minute due to her pregnancy with Princess Charlotte. Despite the fact that Kate has never made an international trip by herself, she'll no doubt handle it like a boss. She's attended plenty of royal engagements without William or the other royals and she's always done a great job. This won't be any different.

Good luck to William, though! Hanging out at home with two toddlers is much more difficult than spending time with the King of the Netherlands. Things could get ugly.
