Justin Timberlake Says He'd Work With Britney Spears -- Cue the Heart Eyes Emoji

Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears

While I've always enjoyed both Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake when it comes to music (and coupling), my loyalty lies with Britney ... forever and always. She's the Queen B that I would serve should I serve any "Bee hive." I was there for her through all of her not-so-wise decisions -- musically and otherwise -- to show support (never shame). So, you can imagine my twinge of excitement and relief in JT revealing recently that he'd be willing to work with Britney.

During the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of his Netflix concert documentary film Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids, Justin somewhat arrogantly told E!, "I apologize for not being in the know ... I'm accessible, give us a call!" And no matter the douchey tone, we'll take it, since it's definitely a step closer to his moving on since the couple's split in 2002. (We get it, JT; that breakup broke us, too. It was hard to get over -- for you and for us.) Even though he is now married, we miss the "Brustin" (had they dated 10 years into the future) coupling. But, I digress!

If you're wondering how all of this came to be, it's quite simple: While promoting her latest album Glory on Most Requested Live, Britney told fans that she'd love to work with Justin Timberlake among a list full of other great names -- taking the high road after a decade of her ex-bae crying rivers to anyone who would listen to him retell the tale of their messy ending.

But taking the high road doesn't seem to be the case here, as JT quickly explained he'd been out of the loop (due to baby Silas) and thus completely unaware that the Queen was interested in working with him.

Honestly, we're just ecstatic that he's finally willing to grab an extra minute or two of fame in a more positive way than he has in recent years -- in a way that requires more work than writing and constantly resurrecting the details of his scathing diary entry, better known as his hit song "Cry Me a River."

We gave him a pass for a long while, because aside from our understanding the heartache of someone you love doing you oh-so-dirty (as we've presumed Brit did him) -- well, it's Britney, b*tch, and that there says it all.

And while we're almost positive the two won't ever actually make the collabo happen (hello awkward), our patience was running thin with JT, so we're just happy he accepted the truce while it was on the table. It was only a matter of time before we all took a note from Beyonce's bey-hive and came for his entire life in his Instagram comments, so better for him to have fallen in line.
