Beyonce Had a '70s-Themed Birthday Bash -- Here's How to Pretend You Were Invited

Beyonce might have canceled her upcoming concert to rest her vocal cords, but the pop icon still managed to celebrate her 35th birthday in style. Queen Bey and Jay Z got down at a Soul Train–themed soiree Monday night at NYC's NoMad hotel with the likes of Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Chance the Rapper, Diddy, and Usher. And if that's not enough to make you wish you were there, just wait until you see what happened on the dance floor! Wait -- we'll show you. Drink these photos in, close your eyes, and pretend you were boogeying with Bey, Jay, and Blue. It'll be just like your invite didn't get lost in the mail.

Bey and Jay spent the previous day (Beyonce's actual birthday) hanging at the Budweiser Made in America Festival in Philadelphia with former president Bill Clinton. But on Monday, they definitely looked ready for some retro revelry upon their arrival to the event (love those chains!):

But things really got groovy after the couple went inside -- there's nothing like a 'fro to make things festive. And yassssss to Beyonce for single-handedly bringing the one-legged jumpsuit back!

Oh, and when you're Beyonce, you obviously don't have candles on your birthday cake -- you have sparklers. Because GLITZ!! The best part of this video, though, is when Blue Ivy sneaks a swipe of frosting toward the end. A girl after our own hearts!

Celeb kids: They're just like us! And we're betting Blue got a big kick out of her daddy's hair, too. Which, just in case you didn't get a good enough look in the video, looked. Like. This:

Can #HendrixVibes be a thing now? Shockingly, however, Jay didn't even have the most outrageous 'do of the night -- from what we can tell, that award went to Diddy, who ... well, check it out:

Diddy is SO ready to star in the next installment of Charlie's Angels. Alicia Keys (seen here with her husband, Swizz Beatz, who DJ'd the party) went slightly safer with her vintage headband/fringe combo.

Let's start making bets now: Will Beyonce's birthday party outfit be this year's most popular Halloween costume? We think we can make it happen.

Here's hoping Beyonce had a very happy 35th, and that she gets well soon! (At least her ailing vocal cords didn't keep her from fulfilling her duties as dancing queen!)
