The Season 23 'DWTS' Cast Is Revealed -- & the Stars Are Just as Excited as We Are

From Olympic gold medalists to '90s R&B heartthrobs, this year's Dancing With the Stars cast has just been revealed -- and the roster of talent does not disappoint. The season officially kicks off on September 12 on ABC, but judging by the cast's reactions, this crop of contestants is already prepping for a major dance-off in season 23. Here's what some of the stars had to say about their new DWTS status. Let's just say that most of them are as excited about the new season as we are.

Gymnast Laurie Hernandez is going from watching to dancing (which is no surprise because the girl can certainly move), and it seems like she couldn't be more thrilled. She'll be partnering up with Val Chmerkovskiy, and she's even asking her fans to help the duo pick out their team name. Ideas?

It's fate for actress and TV host Marilu Henner! She's a serious fan of the show -- and, curiously enough, the show premieres on the same date that Taxi first aired. Maybe that means she and Derek Hough are guaranteed to have good luck on their first dance.

Ryan Lochte is stepping out of the pool and lacing up his dancing shoes -- if he can stay out of trouble. In any case, he and partner Cheryl Burke (who returns to the show after a short hiatus) will be one couple to watch.

Actress and author Maureen McCormick (that's Marcia Brady to most of us!) has her eyes on that Mirrorball trophy, and she's ready to hit the dance floor with Artem Chigvintsev.

Little Women: LA star Terra Jole is honored and excited to be joining the cast. She and Sasha Farber look ready to tango.

The Fosters star Jake T. Austin is happy to hit the ballroom with Jenna Johnson, and he's also taking team name suggestions.

Race car driver James Hinchcliffe is paired with Sharna Burgess, and he's even reached out to former contest and and fellow driver Helio Castroneves for advice.

And we can't forget about the rest of the dancing couples. Amber Rose and Maks Chmerkovskiy, Vanilla Ice and Witney Carson, and Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold will also be joining this season.

We'll be tuning in come September to see these dancing duos cut a rug. For now, we'll have to be satisfied getting the scoop from our favorite stars' social media accounts. Here's hoping for some good rehearsal shots!
