Jinger Duggar & Jeremy Vuolo's Engagement Accused of Being a Ratings Ploy

It's been a few weeks since Jinger Duggar got engaged, but could there be nefarious reasons behind it? According to speculation, her sister Jessa Seewald may have set Jinger up with Jeremy Vuolo in order to increase ratings for Counting On, the spin-off show to the canceled 19 Kids and Counting.

There was some question as to whether TLC would renew Jill and Jessa: Counting On, and even rumors that the two married sisters made a pregnancy pact to each have a second child at the same to time in order to get the network to sign on for another season.

We learned earlier this summer that the show would be back for a second season, this time as just Counting On. The family has revealed that Jinger and Jeremy's courtship and engagement will be a major story line on the show, but it seems as though there's nothing random about it.

When Jeremy and Jinger broke the news that they were courting, they shared that they had met through her sister and brother-in-law, Jessa and Ben Seewald. They gradually grew closer, and after a mission trips together, decided to get to know each other better to determine if they wanted to get married.

Now some people are suggesting that Jessa pushed the relationship onto her sister in order to stay in the limelight. The Inquisitr even suggested that Jessa posted news of the couple's recent engagement to her Instagram in order to up her follower count, which now stands at around 1.8 million.

Yeah, we're buying into this theory about as much as the one that Jinger and Jeremy are already expecting a baby together. Jessa and Jinger have always had a close relationship (they are only a year apart!), and with as much emphasis as their faith places on marriage, it makes complete sense that all the Duggars would be looking out for potential mates for their siblings.

The fact that they are willing to document it all for a reality show doesn't mean it's not real. It just means we get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of their life. Nothing more and nothing less.
