20 Celebrity Duos We Forgot Are Friends

In many ways, Hollywood is a lot like high school: There are some stars who are way more popular than others, while a select few seem to try a variety of things to be considered cool. There’s always a ton of gossip going on behind the scenes, and the rumor mill is never ending (and much like our teen years, a good portion of what we hear is completely fabricated). There are also plenty of cliques that form among celebs, and since everyone is the cool kid in this analogy, we're always curious to find out more.

While some famous BFFs tend to flaunt their friendship so that the world is well aware (RIP Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods), others live a more low-key life.

In other words, stars we didn't even know knew each other tend to be close, and every time we spot a photo of those seemingly opposite and pretty random pairings, we feel that sense of surprise all over again.

For example, there are a handful of famous comedians who pretty much live in T-shirts and jeans, who happen to be pals with designer-rocking, runway-walking top models. Current musicians have been connected to stars from the '90s or aughts, and teens have sought the advice of older, wiser A-listers who were once in their shoes.

Like most friendships, there's usually no one thing that ties these people together; they simple meet, hit it off, and that pretty much that!

Still, we can't help but imagine what these private conversation are like.

Ahead is a list of 20 famous friendships that we sometimes forget about, but love all the same!

1/20

Taylor Swift & Cazzie David

Taylor Swift has a lot of ladies in her crew, from Selena Gomez, to Blake Lively, to a variety of Victoria's Secret models, and even Lena Dunham. But it seems like she's always willing to add more members as she shared a pic with Larry David's comedian daughter (and Pete Davidson's pre-Ariana Grande ex), Cazzie David, in early January, captioning the shot "20wineteen."

(Selena Gomez was in the photo, too!)

2/20

John Mayer & Bob Saget

It seems a tad random, but the Fuller House star and the musician are actually buddies. John even attended Bob Saget's wedding in October 2018, when the actor said "I do" to Kelly Rizzo. John even regrammed a wedding photo of Bob and Kelly, saying "Like I said, I had a thing last night. And what a beautiful thing it was." Bob provided even more proof when he posted a pic of them all together.

3/20

Courteney Cox & Ed Sheeran

When Courteney wished Ed a happy birthday on Instagram, it jogged our memory that the two were more than pals. She was basically his landlord at one point! Years ago, Courteney let Ed live at her Malibu Beach house for rent of $0.

"There was no rent, but I made the bed and cups of tea and things like that," he revealed to The Sun. "If you're staying at your friend's house, you should treat it like your own."

Ed even introduced the actress to her partner, Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid.

4/20

Courteney Cox & Isla Fisher

We all know that Courteney and Jennifer Aniston are real-life besties, but we sometimes forget that she's close with Isla Fisher, too. When Isla shared a throwback welcoming Courteney to Instagram, we were reminded that the two met all the way back in 2003, and once hung out with the Kardashians together, too!

5/20

Kate Beckinsale & Sarah Silverman

For those who were scratching their heads when Kate was spotted hanging out with Pete Davidson, it actually wasn't that random. The actress's friend group is full of comedians, including Sarah Silverman, who used to date Michael Sheen, the father of Kate's daughter, Lily.

Yes, it's quite the connection, but we love that these two ladies still get along!

6/20

Courtney Love & Ross Butler

13 Reasons Why had us on the edge of our seats wondering what would happen next, but nothing is more intriguing than one of the show's stars, Ross Butler, being friends with Courtney Love. They met through Courtney's manager, Sam Lutfi, and became friends.

In October, there was serious drama surrounding Ross as he was trying to get Kurt Cobain's guitar back from Courtney's daughter's ex (lots of connections there). He was even accused of conspiring to murder the guy.

Eek!

7/20

Millie Bobby Brown & Aaron Paul

This friendship started out as Aaron being a big fan of Stranger Things. One thing led to another, and after sharing his love via social media, he interviewed Millie for Elle in a series called "Celebrity Stanclub." It was over the phone, but they eventually met up in person, along with Aaron's wife, Lauren (also a fan), and the couple has been joking about adopting the teen ever since.

8/20

Millie Bobby Brown & Drake

Yes, this 15-year-old has a lot of adult friends, but that's pretty much part of the business. This duo did receive backlash at one point, after Millie revealed she texts back and forth with the rapper. She quickly came to his defense, questioning why people had to make the friendship a headline.

"I’m lucky to have people in the business extend their time to help me further my career and offer their wisdom and guidance," she wrote on Instagram stories. "I’m very blessed to have amazing people in my life. U don’t get to choose that for me. It’s nice to have people who understand what I do. Now get back to talking about real problems in this world other than my friendships . . . jeez.”

9/20

Rachel Brosnahan & David Spade

One is a comedian in real life while the other plays on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but these two actually share another connection: Kate Spade. The late designer was the aunt of Rachel, as the actress's mother is her sister, and was also the sister-in-law of David, whose brother Andy was married to Kate.

10/20

Rebel Wilson & Mariah Carey

We hope that what happens in Aspen doesn't stay in Aspen, because we want this friendship to continue! The singer and the actress partied together on a getaway in December and really hit it off. Rebel even shared a funny story about their night of clubbing while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, saying that at one point, Mariah was reluctant to give up her coat because it was part of her outfit.

11/20

Priyanka Chopra & Matthew Koma

When the Quantico actress shared a photo with Hilary Duff's partner Matthew Koma (and Hilary herself), it was a bit confusing for those who don't know how far back she and musician go. Matthew actually worked on a song with Priyanka a few years ago called "In My City" -- and yes, it's worth listening to!

Side note: Maybe she'll collab with her husband, Nick Jonas, next!

12/20

Emily Ratajkowski & The Fat Jew

When Emily married Sebastian Bear-McClard at NYC's City Hall, it was fairly casual and not a lot of people were in attendance. Someone who was there, though? The social media star known as The Fat Jew, aka Josh Ostrovsky, who served as a witness for the couple. He's actually a childhood friend of Sebastian's, but has since become close to Emily, too.

13/20

Amy Schumer & Jennifer Lawrence

These ladies are both funny, so it's no wonder they ended up getting along. While we knew they went on vacation together, we didn't know how close they really were until JLaw showed up at Amy's surprise wedding -- which seemed to be a pretty exclusive event.

Perhaps she'll be Aunt Jen to Amy's baby!

14/20

Gigi Hadid & Tan France

... and Antoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness, too!

The top model is actually pretty close with these two Queer Eye cast members, which makes sense since the Netflix show is about style. Aside from the occasional Instagram comment, Gigi celebrated Tan's birthday with him, and Antoni. Jonathan Van Ness also joined in on Gigi's birthday celebration

Seems like a fun crowd!

15/20

Jonathan Van Ness & Michelle Kwan

Gigi isn't the only famous face that JVN has been hanging with. He's also friendly with Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan and is even attempting to learn how to skate like a pro himself. The two have performed on the ice together, and he's said she's helping him "get his life together" before his "Road to Beijing" tour.

16/20

Jennifer Garner & Ina Garten

Jennifer Garner has a video series on her Instagram called "Pretend Cooking Show," because she simply enjoys cooking (and is actually quite good). Ina is a pro who Jennifer is a big fan of, and the actress has gotten a few chances to hang with her. The two teamed up for the chef's Thanksgiving special, and have posted a few sweet shots together on Instagram.

17/20

Chrissy Teigen & Brooklyn Decker

When Brooklyn appeared on Lip Sync Battle and competed against her tennis champ husband, Andy Roddick, Chrissy posted a sweet Instagram photo hugging the fellow mama, saying she was "one of my best friends."

"Fun fact," Chrissy added toward the bottom of the caption. "Brooklyn sent me a vaginal care kit before I gave birth to Luna. It had handwritten notes attached to all sorts of weird sh*t. I was so confused. After pushing her out, I finally understood."

18/20

Shawn Mendes & Teddy Geiger

Back in the aughts, Teddy Geiger was a singing teen heartthrob, much like Shawn became later on. So the fact that these two collaborate on music now makes a lot of sense. Their bond goes beyond just work, though, and Shawn had openly spoken out and has shown support for Teddy as she transitioned.

19/20

Eva Longoria & Victoria Beckham

The actress and the Spice-Girl-turned-designer have been close for years. Eva is even the godmother of Victoria's daughter, Harper, and Victoria designed Eva's wedding dress

"We have sleepovers in pajamas and our hairdresser Kenny brushes our hair until we go to sleep!" Victoria once revealed about their friendship. "We met so many years ago in LA and she’s now my loyal friend -- she’s very loyal and she’s super smart."

20/20

Kirsten Bell & Jackie Tohn

Fans of the Netflix show GLOW will immediately recognize Jackie from the show, while fans of Kristen's will recognize Jackie from ... everywhere on Kristen's social media! These two go way, way back, and even a quick Google search will bring up tweets from 2012 and a YouTube performance from 2011

Jackie also appeared on Veronica Mars back in the day, but didn't even tell Kristen about the audition beforehand. “It’s weird with a situation like that, when you’re such close friends with someone who is so successful,” she once said . “I would never be like, ‘Hey! Get me on Veronica Mars.’”
