From Elegant to Supa Dupa Fly: 19 Looks From the 2016 VH1 Hip Hop Honors

Little black outfits on Monica, Amber Rose, and Kelly Rowland

We love to love red carpet fashion -- especially when it's our favorite celebs from yesteryear gracing us with their iconic presence. That's right, music gurus (from the '90s on up), models, and celebs of many other calibers (A-list or not) gathered together to slay the red carpet -- bringing the VH1 Hip Hop Honors back with a vengeance.

It's safe to say that the fashion of the night was anything but basic -- even the most somber outfits (tons of LBD action) made quite a splash. And with this year's show honoring the ladies of hip-hop -- hence the theme All Hail the Queens -- we'd expect nothing less.

But, of course, you must see for yourself -- and that's why we've got all 19 of the must-see looks lined up.

The rapper reminded us just why she was being honored at the event -- bringing the same sexy she brought to hip-hop to the red carpet. She wore a fitted velvet mini, adorned by strands of pearls, and a pair of fishnets, seductively hidden under her knee-high boots. Her best accessory, though? Her adorbs 2-year-old daughter, Royal Reign.

  • Monica

Wearing a sexy Rebecca Vallance pantsuit and a sheer top, the singer gave us a few '90s feels with her thick, black choker.

  • Amber Rose

The sexy model (er, muva?) and entrepreneur graced the red carpet in, by far, one of her most modest looks to date. She wore an all-black body-con ensemble -- showing off her phenomenal curves.

  • Fantasia Barrino

Fantasia made a simple but bold statement with this low-cut, tuxedo-inspired Mugler ensemble. And we must say that her skin is absolutely radiant against the olive fabric.

Far from a noob when it comes to the iconic world of bold fashion statements, Missy wowed us with this chic rocker/swordsman look -- a look that only she could pull off. She made it clear that she was every bit deserving of the tribute in honor of her music legacy.

  • Keke Palmer

A golden example of elegance, Palmer perfectly paired her gold choker with this floor length gown -- and the mixture of gold and copper patches made her a modern-day Cleopatra.
