Anthony Kiedis Saved a Baby's Life During 'Carpool Karaoke' Like It Was NBD

Anthony Kiedeis and James Corden

For those who religiously watch The Late Late Show's Carpool Karaoke segment, you know there's never a dull moment in the car with host James Corden. However, his ride with the Red Hot Chili Peppers got far crazier than any of us viewers could've ever guessed -- yes, more exciting than singing shirtless (see below). During an interview with Radio X, Anthony Kiedis talked about his carpool sesh and the chain of events that apparently led to his to actually saving a baby.

Kiedis recalled a woman who ran out of her home screaming, "my baby, my baby, my baby can't breathe." So, of course, he said they all ran across the street to the baby's rescue -- but it was Kiedis who attempted "a little baby CPR real quick" in order to get the baby breathing again. When that failed, he began "rubbing the belly" -- and apparently bubbles came from the baby's mouth, and the baby's eyes rolled back into place, before the ambulance arrived on the scene.

Holy hell. What? You mean to tell me that all went down at some point during the ride between a dance-off and some celebratory Mexican food (neither of which was included in the segment)? Yeah, it's hard to believe considering how nonchalant Kiedis sounded talking about how it all went down. (And hard to believe a friendly wrestling match was included instead of a, hello, dance-off!)

Hey. Kiedis, is there something you need to tell us? Do you do this every day -- save little babies like it's no big deal? Are you parading around at night in tights and a cape? Can you teach us how to keep our sh*t when sh*t goes down? We've got questions that need answers, damn it.

But, then again, Anthony Kiedis is a dad to 8-year-old son Everly Bear ... and most parents we know just have that superhero instinct. "When you're a dad, and somebody yells 'my baby,' you jog across the street," he explained. Indeed.

Well, we're happy that the guys were en route as all of this went down. After all, they saved a child's life. If ever being in the right place at the right time meant something, this would certainly be it.
