Kirk Cameron's Marriage Advice Is So Extreme, It Might Even Startle a Duggar

Kirk Cameron tells women to know their role If you traveled back in time to the mid-1980s, you'd find plenty of young girls who had a crush on this Growing Pains star. But based on his recent rantings, those ladies are probably breathing a sigh of relief that they didn't end up with the actor whose marriage advice is horrifying women everywhere. Evangelical Christian Kirk Cameron recommends that "wives are to honor and respect and follow their husband's lead," regardless of how they're being treated. Ouch!

Oh, Mike Seaver, what's become of you? In an interview with the Christian Post, the husband and father-of-six went on to dig himself in deeper:

When each person gets their part right, regardless of how their spouse is treating them, there is hope for real change in their marriage.

Um, we're so confused. How is treating your spouse poorly getting "their part right"? I don't see a lot of "hope" there, Kirk.

You also have to ask: "Kirk, is this the advice you'd give your daughters?" You'd hope their mom would speak up, but, according to Kirk, that's not part of God's plan. Yeesh. What century is this? Is Kirk Cameron a long-lost Duggar? And, if so, would that make him "Jirk" (pronounced "jerk")?

If there's a bright side to this, at least Kirk isn't running for office ... yet ... as this Twitter user points out!
