Princess Charlotte's First Birthday Will Be Surprisingly Low-Key

princess charlotte turns 1Looks like it's almost time for another royal party! Just weeks after toasting Queen Elizabeth on her 90th, Princess Charlotte will celebrate her first birthday on May 2, and her mom, Kate Middleton, is no doubt busy preparing a special event in honor of her darling daughter.

It's hard to believe this little lady is already turning 1! It seems like just weeks ago we were looking at her gorgeous christening photos.

While some parents fret about party planning, Kate has a pro in the family! Doting mom and grandmom Carole Middleton, who founded the online kids' party store Party Pieces, will most likely lend a helping hend. After all, she did share her wisdom in Little London magazine, where she notes, "... parties do not have to be lavish and expensive occasions and it's amazing what you can achieve by being clever and creative." Amen, Mrs. Middleton!

No matter what the party's theme, we're sure it'll be stylish and lovely, just like everything else about Kate and her crew. (So, most likely, no reservations have been made at Chuck E. Cheese's. Just sayin'.)

It's believed the gathering will take place at Amner Hall, the family's country home. Let's hope they have great weather and big brother George can enjoy the great outdoors and some backyard games with family and friends.

You'd have to imagine Aunt Pippa and Uncle Harry will join the festivities. It'll be so nice for the royal family to gather for the celebration after the royal couple spent time traveling to India.

We're sure Kate will also snap plenty of pictures, and hopefully we'll catch a glimpse of Charlotte's special day as the guest of honor!
