Anna Duggar Gets Painfully Honest About Josh's Infidelity

We have definitely been feeling for this girl lately. Anna Duggar opened up about Josh's infidelity on a recent episode of Jill and Jessa: Counting On, and she got painfully real about what it felt like to learn that her husband had cheated on her and created a national scandal.

She also told people who think she should get divorced over the controversy to buzz off ... in the nicest, most Duggar-like way possible, of course.

The mom of four said that hearing the news that Josh had cheated was "like a bad dream." She said, "It didn't seem possible and I just thought, I'm gonna wake up and everything is going to be okay and this really can't be true." She also admitted that it was "such a betrayal for a spouse to go through."

Let's not forget that Josh's confession that he'd been unfaithful came on the heels of the public learning that he had molested four of his sisters plus an underage babysitter when he was a young teen. The family's show, 19 Kids and Counting, was canceled shortly thereafter.

Lots of people (yours truly included) have urged Anna to consider divorcing her husband and moving on with her life, but it seems that she doesn't see that option in her life. She confessed:

I respect other people's views, but in my heart, when I got married, I vowed to God first and then to Joshua, for better or for worse, till death do we part ... My prayer and my heart's desire is for our marriage is to be restored.

On one hand, I admire Anna's resolve and steadfastness. But. There's a difference between promising to love someone in sickness and in health and for better and for worse -- and promising to stay married to someone no matter how badly they treat you.

My hope for Anna's marriage isn't necessarily that it will be restored ... it's that she knows that God will not blame her if she decides to walk away. Hopefully it will be the real wake-up call that Josh needs to realize that he actually needs a real heart-change.
