Prince Harry's Relationship With Queen Elizabeth Kind of Sounds Like a Drag

For all her years in the public eye, it's no secret that the queen is a pretty private person. We know what she wears and who she supports, but not what it's like to chat with her ... which makes it all the more surprising that Prince Harry revealed what his relationship with his grandmother looks like. Not surprisingly, it's not a normal grandmother-grandson relationship -- actually, Harry said he views her as a "boss."

It's not like we expected Queen Elizabeth to bake cookies every time Harry and William trotted over to the palace, but still -- "boss" seems harsh. Though to his credit, Harry seemed to look at it more like a respect thing than anything else. Here's what he said:

I still view her more as the queen than my grandmother ... You have this huge amount of respect for your boss and I always view her as my boss, but occasionally as a grandmother.

In no universe are Prince William and Prince Harry underprivileged, but yikes. Who wants a boss instead of a grandmother? No fun.

Prince Harry let this slip during an interview with British filmmaker John Bridcut, who's working on a documentary for the queen's birthday in June called Elizabeth at 90 -- A Family Tribute. He scored interviews with all of Queen Elizabeth's immediate family members, and he was granted access to all the family's home videos. If they're anything like my family's home videos, they'll just be William and Harry's noses in the camera, but that's beside the point.

The film will be released this summer, so maybe then we'll see if Harry said anything about love in his family, or if he just focused on all the cookies his grandmother didn't bake.
