Duggar Family Compared to the Zika Virus After Advertisers Boycott 'Counting On'

Poor Jill and Jessa! Their show, Jill and Jessa: Counting On, may be in jeopardy after multiple advertisers have boycotted it, but the final nail in the TLC coffin might be one expert's opinion that the Duggars are basically the Zika virus of TV.

In the few weeks since the Duggar family returned to TLC with their spin-off show, a slew of companies have pulled their commercials from playing during Counting On

Ever since Josh's dual scandals last year, it seems as though a lot of people have soured on the Duggars. Last spring, it was revealed that Jim Bob and Michelle's eldest son had molested four of his own sisters, plus an underage babysitter, and subsequently, 19 Kids and Counting was canceled.

A couple of months later, Josh confessed to being unfaithful to his wife Anna and their four children after he was exposed in the Ashley Madison hack. Basically, it's been a big ol' mess.

Recently, the CEO of Strategic Vision PR, David Johnson, told Life & Style that there's "no way TLC can keep this on the air." He explained, "TLC may think the family is ratings gold, but to advertisers, they're more like the Zika virus!"

Whoa, harsh much? I get that the Duggars aren't everyone's cup of herbal tea, but it seems all sorts of rude to compare them to Zika, a global phenomenon harming God knows how many unborn babies as their mothers contract the disease.

Besides, it totally sucks that Josh's siblings (not to mention his wife Anna!) are paying the price for his bad decisions. They are the real victims where Josh is concerned ... why victimize them further by saying they are the problem and don't deserve to be on TV?
